Thanks for the suggestions. I tried that and everything else......maybe I should get a fat gal in the backseat?

Will probably end up taking it to the dealer.
Might ask the fat gal to get off the back seat and then pull the strap? 🥰

You could just ask the Fat Gal to fix it since you aren't capable. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

If there was a place all of us who ordered a 2022 Maverick could go and collectively have a beer together, we need to make that happen.
I would absolutely die laughing if we all went out for a beer only for the bartender to tell us that they're out of beer. We hang around griping just long enough to see a random guy walk in and get a pint straight away.

The bartender would take one look at ALL of us and say, "We don't serve your kind here."

So the recall only deals with towing trailers with brakes which I won't be doing. I don't want to pay $200-300 for a rental while getting the back seat fixed, but I would need a vehicle to take the wife to physical therapy and such.

You probably should take out the fat gal in the backseat before you go to the dealer. Technicians might get sidetracked!!;)

Did they fix it?
No they didn’t but I did. I went to my scheduled appointment but when I got there he said I would have to leave my truck because the trim people were backed up. Typical. So I brought it back home and was able to fix it in about 10 minutes. Open your back passenger door and at the bottom of the seat you will see a small panel. In the center of the panel is a round plug cover - remove this with a thin bladed common screwdriver, then remove the screw (Torx). Pull the panel out enough to get to the trip lever. Pull it and raise the seat and then remove the other screw on the bottom of the panel. Remove the panel and you will see a cable with a pin on the end. Reattach the pin into the lever - it will only go in one way. Reinstall the panel. It literally took me less time than writing this. Good luck!

Thanks to Milous for sending me a PDF of the shop manual pertaining to removing the rear seat.....like 64 pages of it.

Thank you Looney1.

Thanks for the detailed write up.

So today I stopped at the Ford dealer again and asked if I could chat with the trim tech for a couple of minutes to see if they had encountered this problem. I was told "No", but they did send out an employee who owned a Maverick. He said the only situation he had hear of was the seat locking in the raised position.

He did say that since I've got a Case Number that Ford should furnish us with a rental. Anyone know about this?

I doubt that if you get a 500 lb. fat gal in the back seat that you will get the seat or anything else to rise.... ;)

Maybe let a few homeless guys in it for a “soup kitchen” that might loosen it up..
