I feel like the Maverick has kind of covered two slightly different demographics during it's life.

1. People who want a cheap, no frills truck.
2. People who want a small truck no matter what.

I think that first group made up a very vocal part of the initial Maverick buyers but as the trucklet has spent a few year on the market, the focus is shifting towards the second group, likely for a few various reasons and for better or worse.

Not to say that there isn't overlap between the two groups, there definitely is but I think it's fair grouping. I myself fall more into the second group as even if I had F-150 money, I wouldn't buy it because it's just too large for my preferences and I would rather buy a nicer fully-loaded Mav.
Maybe people from the second group need to ask Ford to make a Lincoln version?

The price is what originally drew me to it. At the current prices, if I were in the same spot, I'd probably be looking at my available options a bit more. I like the look of the interior, but it's cheap. Rattles and scratches easy.

I think we paid $31k for our 2023 Maverick, which was more than I paid for my 2022 Ranger @$29k. Since the Maverick was for my wife, I upgraded a few things like heated seats, steering wheel, mirrors, which my truck doesn't have... But outside of that, the more expensive Maverick doesn't have anything really any better. My Ranger has Sync 3 and the Maverick has a shitty radio that I can hardly see.

If you like it, you like it. I am just not convinced of the value anymore. Now that used car prices aren't crazy anymore, that's probably where I'll go back to buying. I only bought these new because it was cheaper at the time. Warranty means nothing to me as I won't let a tech touch my vehicles. Hell, I found an oil leak at the front of the engine on the Maverick on the first oil change. I cleaned it up and checked it the next oil change and sure as sh!t, it was there again. It appears to come from the turbo oil feed off the block, which is a huge pain to get to.

Hell, my wife and I hardly drive our trucks. We mostly drive my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD that I've had for a long time and now with 273k miles. I still use it as the tow rig and for family trips (mostly because of dogs and fitting a crate). When the weather is semi-decent, I'm driving my S2000 or Sky anyway. :)

...I just sold my 21' ranger lariat Tremor...I bought it new for $47,900..went ranger lariat shopping in October. The 2024 ranger lariat was $52K...That's $14K more than the 25' Maverick Lariat I irdered.....you ain't buying a new ranger lariat for 30K...that's not gonna happen...anywhere.. sorry.
I ain’t buying an any lariat period. Im not the type of person to spend the coin on a high trim. But a new 2024 Ranger XLT by me is 35k. Seems tempting when comparing when a 2025 Maverick XL AWD 4k is 33k.

I paid just a smidge over $37k total price including all taxes, fees, etc for my 2024 XLT last year. The same build in a 2025 is $1,140 more BEFORE taxes and fees. The hybrid? Even more expensive (and I would lose the FX4 package).

I felt that I got in the Maverick game too late last year. I kick myself frequently for not trying harder in 2023 (I was OBSESSED with the truck in late 2022). Now, in 2025? The sticker-shock is real. I suppose the Maverick is still a 'bargain' compared against most new trucks. However, the spirit of the Maverick was not to be over-priced like the Ranger or F-150. The Maverick has slowly become what it set-out to disassociate with.
My 25 lariat is going to be 43,000 otd the door exactly, so 6k difference, but I got lariat with moonroof, 4K tow, tonneau, bed extender.

That doesn’t seem bad to me

Question is, trump just stated tariffs 25% Mexico go in affect Feb 1
Granger told me; on phone and on here if I signed lines and did deposit I was price protected

I sure hope so! If not I believe I should be entitled to refund if they say I need 10k more bc I didn’t agree to that

fingers crossed it’s just bs

Companies charge all that the market will tolerate.
That is economics.
We buy what we want and justify our purchase in many ways.
These little truck's are our Tonka Toys and It's Our money.
Inflation, The same stories and comments will be made about the $50,000 Mavericks of the 2030 models. You just wait and see.

Is a new 2024 Ranger XLT that's 35k AWD ? I doubt that. I thought they started at $35,000 in the XL trim with only RWD

Prices have been nuts across the board for sometime - making the reasonably priced 2022 Ford Maverick a true marketing genius - Meanwhile reality says Somethings Gotta Give ! Interesting to see how this plays out.

Cheers

To me you can't just compare trims. You can't say this vehicle XLT is only at this much more than this vehicle XLT, or XL. The reason I say that is because I bought an XLT, and I added the all-wheel drive, the luxury package, the lane assist or 360 whatever it's called, I also added mud flaps, all weather formats, and the trifold tonneau cover. So without any of those things yeah my car would have been $26,000 but it was 34,000. However the 34 was with tax, I also got rust proofing or rust inhibit or whatever that is, paint sealant fabric sealant, window protection, and that included a 10-year hundred thousand mile warranty. So the actual vehicle was less than that as the cost went up due to added goodies. So how can you compare when you don't know what's on what, or what you're getting.

Edited I had a trade and incorrectly added that into the cost. I had put the vehicle cost 39k which is not right, so I removed that as to not cause much confusion. The vehicle was $33,535 then they took off the trade for a total of $28,535... Then I added the tax, the extended warranty, the rust package and such and sales tax. So total was $33,950. Not $39,000

You can compare base MSRP for each trim level. It's really not complicated.

...that's why they make different vehicles for different folks. I worked all my life & now I want comfort & I get it. I checked out the xlt & for a few bucks more, you get the lariat & all that comes with it....good look with the ranger. I loved mine!

Actually I made a mistake. The total vehicle was $33,900. This included a vehicle obviously with the luxury package and the tonneau cover the pilot 360 thing. This also included sales tax, the rust proofing, and the extended warranty. I ended up adding the trade in twice which is incorrect. But the actual vehicle cost with the warranty and such was 33, 900.
