Ha ha ha. Kudos to all the creative "I do not like it" comments. It'll be interesting to see if it grows on more people (as a handful here said it had grown on them).

It's interesting how many people just don't like it. No explanation or anything; they just don't like it. I guess beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.

However, the more we see something, the more it grows on us. We've all known someone that we thought was completely plain when we first met them, but after a while they actually look attractive. I don't know the psychological term, but it's a thing. It applies to music too. Pretty soon you'll all love the '25 front end. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I was tempted to make my own thread, but this one is already here despite all the useless noise, LOL.

'the front end' is a little misleading because I think there are 9 front ends. :D

while I absolutely in the camp that overall the 22-24 looks better than the 25, with so many grille and fascia options to consider, and some colors conceal the new 'orc tusks' upper bumper cover (as someone else called it).

the front ends are:
  1. XL grille (velocity blue)
  2. XLT grille - yes, I skipped a pic on this. same as fx4 with blanks instead of tow hooks.

  3. XLT grille w/FX4 (ruby red)
  4. XLT grille w/BAP (azure grey)
  5. Lariat (eruption green)
  6. Lariat FX4 (skipped)
  7. Lariat BAP (skipped)
  8. Tremor (space white)
  9. Lobo 702A (lariat-based, later there will be a Lobo 402A, xlt-based) (shadow black)
Tremor and Lobo are very different because they each have grille designs that are totally unlike the xl/xlt/lariat and they have unique lower fascias, Tremor for more ground clearance and Lobo for fog lights.

I don't really like the little shiny bits in the Lariat grille. It goes with the silver lower fascia and silver 19" wheels, but I'm personally not a huge fan of that look. BAP looks like it does on XLT, this might be popular but it puts the Lariat right into Tremor and Lobo price range.

The 22-24 all have a horizontal bar across the grille and it accents the headlamps. Only the Tremor keeps that type of design feature on the grille, and I think it looks pretty good. The Tremor's lower fascia looks very 'trucky' also, in a good way.

I'm intending to order a Lobo 402A, it should look the same. I swore off black vehicles years ago, but Shadow Black hides the tusks really well and goes with the Lobo grille better. I like Velocity Blue on other trucks but I think it really makes the tusks and grille pop ... and I don't want that. Carbonized Grey might work, instead of Shadow Black.

I won't change my mind. The 22-24 looks much better. The biggest mistake is moving the A/C controls to the screen. An obvious safety issue. There are already too many distractions in all the computer controlled items.

Looks like it now has a body color snow plow blade attached to the bumper cover

Front end looks aside - I think the other gripe people are having is the price of the Maverick which actually is not egregiously higher over 2024 considering the improvements they have made - most of the price increases occurred from 22 to 24.

As someone who has driven a number of new vehicles since 2020 - I can honestly say that the Maverick is one of the better built vehicles that I’ve wheeled - which includes a Bronco, CRV hybrid, Civic, Model 3, Tremor, and a Grand Highlander.

Honda paint is truly garbage. I have more scratches and chips in 5k miles by a factor of at least 3 than I did with my Tremor with 15k miles.

my civic rattles like the dash in the tremor. The 56k highlander has hilariously hard plastics that rival the Mav.

I guess what I’m saying is - $39k for a fully loaded AWD Hybrid with 4K tow is still a really decent deal in the current vehicle market.

The little Mav has grown up a bit, and XL still exists at a relatively affordable price point.

I didn't realize they had the different grilles for different trims. I looked at what I was buying, and that was it...my bad. Thanks for showing all the grilles.

I can see the "orc tusks" you mention, but to me it looks more like a smile. :)

Also, I agree that the Tremor grille is the best looking of them all. I'm not sure I understand how you phrased #9. Are they going to have the XLT grille available on the Lobo or the Lobo grille available on the XLT? Or did I misread it completely?

Agreed on the price. I priced a '24 & '25 with the same stuff on it, and it was only $600 different (IIRC). My conclusion was: to get a 13.2" screen instead of 8" and a heated steering wheel for an extra $600 is a steal. :)

I've been wanting the larger screen so badly for so long, they could have put the front end of a 1974 Volkswagen Thing on it, and I would have bought it. But seriously, I don't see why so many hate the front end of the 2025 Maverick. I actually like it. I think they did pick the best grill of the prototypes I saw.

What do y'all think? Below are the 1974 Thing, 2024 Maverick, and 2025 Maverick.

I have to say when I saw the spy shots of the 25 front end I was very disappointed. But like many it is growing on me the 22-24 is still my favorite. A few things I've thought of are
1. After comparing the early spy shots to the new clean pics I think it will look good when the paint is very clean. I mean if you look at the examples above where the paint is glossy it makes a big difference IMO
2. Even though I don't love it, if I compare to other vehicles I could get Id still pick the Maverick over all other options.

So ultimately if my 24 doesn't get built I will order a 25 and enjoy the truck regardless.

To me Ford ruined the Mustang last year and now maverick. The front end doesn't look balanced. Unfinished on the drawing board. The 22 to 24 still had the little ford truck look. Now? I dont know what I'm looking at.

Saturn did a study in the '80s and found a large percentage of accidents occurred when people messed with their radio, because radios used to be near the bottom of the dashboard. I believe they were the 1st to move the radio way up the dashboard, so people's eyes were still partially on the road when messing with the radio.

The fact that the screen is bigger and at the top of the dashboard is actually a safety enhancer. Looking at the AC buttons & knobs much lower on the dashboard than the screen takes your eyes further (if not completely) off the road. When looking at the bottom of the screen, your peripheral vision is still easily on the road. The further you go down the dashboard, the less your peripheral vision can see the road.

It's a mistake, but so is putting all of the HVAC controls on the screen. I fail to see how the larger screen will make any difference. Certainly not worth taking a bath trading.

The real mistake is the Lobo wheels. Ugliest wheels ever put on a vehicle.
I like them myself, really none of the Maverick wheels do it for me other than the Tremor/FX4s, but the Lobos have a great take on a very old classic. Screen controlled ac that just has me sweating thinking of all the time I'm gonna drive off a cliff cranking the AC up. Good thing I own a 23. Doubt I will buy another Mav for myself until I pay it off.

But you don't have to look for a knob. You just turn it with one hand while eating french frys with the other and drive with your knee.
