Time to get some aftermarket stuff baking LOLIt looks like it should do something. Maybe flip down to reveal a rocket launcher or a couple of mini guns![]()
I didn't realize they had the different grilles for different trims. I looked at what I was buying, and that was it...my bad. Thanks for showing all the grilles.I was tempted to make my own thread, but this one is already here despite all the useless noise, LOL.
'the front end' is a little misleading because I think there are 9 front ends.
while I absolutely in the camp that overall the 22-24 looks better than the 25, with so many grille and fascia options to consider, and some colors conceal the new 'orc tusks' upper bumper cover a while ago.
the front ends are:
.
- XL grille (velocity blue)
- XLT grille - yes, I skipped a pic on this. same as fx4 with blanks instead of tow hooks.
- XLT grille w/FX4 (ruby red)
- XLT grille w/BAP (azure grey)
- Lariat (eruption green)
- Lariat FX4 (skipped)
- Lariat BAP (skipped)
- Tremor (space white)
- Lobo 702A (lariat-based, later there will be a Lobo 402A, xlt-based) (shadow black)
.
.
Agreed on the price. I priced a '24 & '25 with the same stuff on it, and it was only $600 different (IIRC). My conclusion was: to get a 13.2" screen instead of 8" and a heated steering wheel for an extra $600 is a steal.Front end looks aside - I think the other gripe people are having is the price of the Maverick which actually is not egregiously higher over 2024 considering the improvements they have made - most of the price increases occurred from 22 to 24.
As someone who has driven a number of new vehicles since 2020 - I can honestly say that the Maverick is one of the better built vehicles that I’ve wheeled - which includes a Bronco, CRV hybrid, Civic, Model 3, Tremor, and a Grand Highlander.
Honda paint is truly garbage. I have more scratches and chips in 5k miles by a factor of at least 3 than I did with my Tremor with 15k miles.
my civic rattles like the dash in the tremor. The 56k highlander has hilariously hard plastics that rival the Mav.
I guess what I’m saying is - $39k for a fully loaded AWD Hybrid with 4K tow is still a really decent deal in the current vehicle market.
The little Mav has grown up a bit, and XL still exists at a relatively affordable price point.
I've been wanting the larger screen so badly for so long, they could have put the front end of a 1974 Volkswagen Thing on it, and I would have bought it. But seriously, I don't see why so many hate the front end of the 2025 Maverick. I actually like it. I think they did pick the best grill of the prototypes I saw.
What do y'all think? Below are the 1974 Thing, 2024 Maverick, and 2025 Maverick.

Actually, I like it too.
Saturn did a study in the '80s and found a large percentage of accidents occurred when people messed with their radio, because radios used to be near the bottom of the dashboard. I believe they were the 1st to move the radio way up the dashboard, so people's eyes were still partially on the road when messing with the radio.I won't change my mind. The 22-24 looks much better. The biggest mistake is moving the A/C controls to the screen. An obvious safety issue. There are already too many distractions in all the computer controlled items.
I like them myself, really none of the Maverick wheels do it for me other than the Tremor/FX4s, but the Lobos have a great take on a very old classic. Screen controlled ac that just has me sweating thinking of all the time I'm gonna drive off a cliff cranking the AC up. Good thing I own a 23. Doubt I will buy another Mav for myself until I pay it off. It's a mistake, but so is putting all of the HVAC controls on the screen. I fail to see how the larger screen will make any difference. Certainly not worth taking a bath trading.
The real mistake is the Lobo wheels. Ugliest wheels ever put on a vehicle.
But you don't have to look for a knob. You just turn it with one hand while eating french frys with the other and drive with your knee.Saturn did a study in the '80s and found a large percentage of accidents occurred when people messed with their radio, because radios used to be near the bottom of the dashboard. I believe they were the 1st to move the radio way up the dashboard, so people's eyes were still partially on the road when messing with the radio.
The fact that the screen is bigger and at the top of the dashboard is actually a safety enhancer. Looking at the AC buttons & knobs much lower on the dashboard than the screen takes your eyes further (if not completely) off the road. When looking at the bottom of the screen, your peripheral vision is still easily on the road. The further you go down the dashboard, the less your peripheral vision can see the road.
