That really sucks. A Lariat ecoboost shouldn't take too long to get built at this point. If it was a hybrid or XL that would be a different story. If the dealer wasn't bending over to make it up to me, I would be taking my order elsewhere.

he just kept repeating "we will make it perfect", so I think he wanted me to wait to see it fixed before talking about the sale, the damaged one is already listed on there site for sale listed as "in transit"

Only way I’d accept that is with a diminished value adjustment and what they offered is not enough.

It's not yours until you sign paperwork for it.

They crashed a vehicle they ordered and did not yet sell.

Time to move on and have them order a new one or go to a dealership that will. Do not accept this vehicle.

I ordered a new atlas blue, lariat lux, eco, AWD, BAP Maverick on 7/25/23 220 days later on 3/1/24 it was delivered to the dealer, I set up a time at 9am the next day to come buy it and at 8:30am, I got a call that an employee of the dealership was taking it to put gas in it and crashed into a Chevy Blazer driven by another employee in the parking lot.

Broken lariat BAP headlight, upper and lower bumper, side marker, fender, wheel well liner, the fender was pushed into the door, possible damage to the steering components +$6800 estimated damage to invoiced to the dealer.

I put in a new order for another Maverick, same as the one I ordered but I have no idea when it will come in.

Has anyone here had something like this happen to them? was there anyway to contact someone at Ford corporate about expediting the replacement order?
You sure it wasn't being used by someone living in that big building on Madison St?

I wouldn't accept the first one. You ordered a new Maverick from the factor; not a dealer repaired

I would have said I'm going to order a replacement from another dealer unless you make me a pretty good offer. Use your leverage.
100%. Dealer needs to pull some strings and make things right for you and fast. Like Joe Strummer said, they need to use their leverage in this special circumstance.
If they’re just shrugging their shoulders, telling you to reorder, restart the whole process, and just wait-and-see you should push back a bit.
I assume they’re going to just fix the original and sell it as new. Maybe ask them if this accident will be reported on the Carfax for this ‘new’ vehicle. Will they tell buyers that it has been in an accident? Remind them that the more time you have to wait and fester while waiting for your replacement, the more time you have to consider questions like this.
Okay, maybe I’m an a$$hole. But I have a low tolerance for crap service and folks not taking ownership of their mistakes.

Something happened to mine as well! Actually, I'm being dramatic. What's disappointing however was that my truck was delivered with a giant nail scratch on the driver's door. Literally as I stepped in for the first time. Didn't take long for a scratch to appear, and it wasn't even caused by me. Also, there's a minor paint chip on the driver rear door which could've been caused during transit since Mavericks are delivered on open car carriers after crossing the border. Of course, this is nothing in comparison to what you just experienced.

The dealer in question gave me a priority code of 11, the other dealer I just went to gave me a 10 priority code not sure if it goes lower than a 10.
I believe 10 is the lowest a dealer can assign and if the dealer that assigned the 11 normally uses 19 for all orders it has the same weight as the 10 of the other dealer. Thats where allocations become the important factor. I would think the dealer could contact Ford on your behalf and plead your case, but I am not sure how effective that would be.

That sucks man. Just wondering if they did fix it "perfectly" for you would it show up on carfax? I wouldn't be afraid of the repair if it was done correctly and they extended the paint warranty. I was afraid of this exact situation when I bought my mach. The salesguy couldn't drive a stick and they let me drive it to the gas station to fill it. Hard to find good help these days. Good luck .hope they make it right for you.

The only thing I've seen that compares to this is when I lived in upstate NY. Was going to lunch and someone pulled out from the Honda dealership with a beautiful, new black Accord, made the U-turn on Highway 332, and promptly got t-boned by another driver.

The highway is one thing, but playing grab-ass in the parking lot is just stupidity on the workers' behalf.

One thing to keep in mind before you say no to the discount on the damaged vehicle. It might be worth waiting to see the repair and then make a decision.

Because this damaged happened before the vehicle was sold the accident will never appear on any vehicle reporting sites like Carfax. The only person that would ever know would be you and if they do a good job repairing it you got a nice discount.

Anyway, just something to consider.

Thought I read somewhere is it does not have to be reported to carfax. And can be sold as new.

Accidents happen. At a good sized dealership, cars are always moving.

Hopefully the dealer can get you a replacement quickly.
