Tailgate light bar-Reverse light question

For those that are using a powered 4-flat converter (like a Curt # 56477) to power a light bar, is having a non-powered reverse light circuit (direct wired to taillight) a problem, or does a plug & play 5-wire converter need to be created? Not sure how sensitive the OEM reverse light circuit is.

I just took power off of the reverse light wire in the curt harness and for the past 2 years have had no issues.

I was lazy I took a shortcut and tapped into the reverse light circuit using the Curt harness on the driver’s side. Instead of running dedicated power all the way to the battery, I opted to use the existing 12V wiring in the truck bed. Also, living in AZ I just used automotive velcro to mount it to the bumper so I could remove it if I needed the spare. After two years no issues.

Not being lazy to me, if I were to install a light bar I would do the very same thing, adding the reverse light feed from the short jumper on the Curt harness, as well as power from the FlexBed.
