I was thinking something along the lines of this that can snap into place over the 2 larger holes and protect from the big stuff but let moisture out.

I'd buy that. 'filling a need'.... literally a fill plate...

No,the tailgate covering is a separate piece included with the install.

Well, you could stop trying to be the forum police. There is a report button. Use it for things that warrant it. You (and no one else) getting offended at something you misconstrued doesn't warrant it.

I picked up a tailgate gap cover piece from evilbay to put on my truck, didn’t notice that opening though

Does the adhesive strip hold well on the spray-in bedliner rough surface?
