I'll have more info once I reach the end of the BBB case. Haven't given up yet.

It’s so hard to replicate on demand. Sometimes it doesn’t happen for me at all. Probably a placebo, but turning off Bluetooth, WiFi, and automatic updates seems to have lessened the issue. Maybe a processing power issue? Or something with the codec being downcoded from lossless to AAC messing up?

Either way, hope they offer some fix eventually.

Ford sent an engineer out to inspect the truck and after reportedly working on the truck for 90 minutes, they concluded that the issue was with CarPlay and my phone OS being out of date despite the skipping happening over USB and bluetooth as well. In other words, they’re placing the blame on Apple/me instead of actually getting to the bottom of the issue simply because they didn’t notice/couldn’t reproduce the skip over USB/bluetooth.

I haven’t received a single sign that Ford is interested in actually fixing this issue.

That's interesting.

Because the behavior I see is exactly the same on Android Auto across two different Pixel phones for the past 3 years, all running quite literally the latest Android there is given they're made by Google.

Yeah, they know about it. They know it's their issue. They just don't care about customers.

Psst. Bluetooth, USB, CarPlay, Android Auto all skip.

iPhone SE 3rd Gen, iPhone 14, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Galaxy S25 Ultra, Moto Edge 2024, etc. All SKIP What would be the odds it being a phone issue and EVERY phone does it and only does it in the truck lol.

Has anyone did the update for those on Sync 3? Last week it said I had an update, but havent done it yet as I havent had the time.

BBB claim was supposed to go to arbitration but I haven’t heard anything for some time. Going to call and nudge it along.

So funny to me they’ll deal with the arbitration process and all the complaints as opposed to just fixing the vehicle. It cannot be that difficult.

Another APIM replacement, still skipping. I suspect it’s a software issue that Ford needs to address.

15 dealer visits.
2 APIM replacements.
1 DSP replacement.
24k frustration-filled miles.

The BBB case has been a complete waste of time. After initially “inspecting” the vehicle and blaming the problem on my phone and Apple, Ford offered a 3/36 PremiumCare plan beyond the 3/36 factory warranty + $1500. Neither of those guarantee I’ll ever have a functional audio system.

I’m not sure how much more of this I can take. The truck’s become a huge source of stress to the point that I’ve been daily driving my 2007 Accord w/ 199k miles instead. Its $20 BT dongle works flawlessly… why can’t the $34k truck do the same?

sorry to hear that. I drive 22k miles a year, a lot of it highway miles for work, and I play music Spotify a lot.

I have accepted it. It's like wearing cologne to me now. My brain just deletes it and I have to consciously think about whether I just heard the music skip, because otherwise, I don't care that it skipped, even if I'm listening to it very loud.

I really have no idea if it's gotten better over time or not. I do, for sure, know that Waze has gotten better over time and I know that using a wireless dongle at the same time as a wired connection is a no-go. I plug my phone in to the charging point on the back of the center armrest now, if I need it plugged in.

XM will occasionally 'skip' when under tree cover in bad weather, particularly around power lines which happens less with the Maverick than it did in my Outback. - There's a road I drive where the Outback struggled to play XM radio on a clear day, and the Maverick is just fine unless there's heavy cloud coverage, and leaves in the trees.

It makes perfect sense though, as XM needs a clear line of sight to the satellite. The storm clouds combined with the trees combined with the power lines is just enough to interfere with the signal in spots.

Otherwise, don't have any audio issues with my '23 with Sync3, and I do stream Amazon Music, Pandora, and maps (occasionally) when connected via a wireless dongle even.

Hi there – send a message to us with your VIN and approximate mileage, along with some more details about your situation. I’ll look into this for you. Thanks!
Good morning,
I'm having the same issue with my 2025 xl with 300 miles. Is there a fix available for this issue?
