Looking at getting the groundshaker 10" boxes and was wondering what subs people were using in these boxes and is the air volume they list for the box close to being true. If anyone has a better option for 2 10s that would work better and that doesn't involve me building my own custom box.

There is a ground shaker knockoff on eBay that claims the same dims, but you have to remove the plastic bins from under the seat. They are a bargain if going that route vs the GS box(es).

lol that thread is mostly me.

I am still not sure there's a lot of 10" woofers I'd run in one of these boxes over the Alpine R2 8" that I am running because the volume is so small.

Various shallow mount 10s are your only realistic option. Alpine now makes a RS series and the RS10 does only want .49ft3, which is a bit more than the Groundshaker box offers, but you need a big amp to take advantage of it and it's a very costly woofer. If that's in your budget I would just buy the Sound Decisions box and a Alpine R2 10" instead. Or you can put a lot of other 10s in the Sound Decisions box, since it's 0.6ft3, which makes a world of difference.

I have the ground shaker box with a 10" Kicker comp r sub. It works perfectly in that box.

I chose the ground Shaker because I was able to get both passenger side and driver side boxes less than the sound decisions box. I use the passenger side box and sold the driver side to recoup half of my money back, so it was a no-brainer for me.

When I ordered my boxes I specifically asked them not to install the plastic ground Shaker plates. They kindly replied they would ship them separately and not install them which they did for me.

Yeah, I figured it would be better to with the SD box over the GS once I looked into their box. I contacted them yesterday to get a price. Looks better also.

^^ comp r 10 is rated for 0.6ft3 but if you say it sounds good that's useful info for sure.

oh that's a comp RT. the T meaning thin / shallow. not surprised.

also, I was wrong, the comp R 10 wants 0.8ft3. no way in a groundshaker.

Yeah if you go with a 10-in under the seat in the Maverick you've got to go shallow mount unless you remove the rear seat and put a wall in. No way to do a standard size sub.

alpine r2 10" fits in the sound decisions box which as mentioned is 0.6ft3 per side. if I didn't have a kid going to college this fall, I would have already upgraded to that, just a question of single or dual. LOL

I would pick the Hertz MPS 250 S2 10" , works well in .5 sealed box volume.

that's because it's a shallow mount sub, sure.

and again, there are better options with the 0.6ft sound decisions than the 0.45ft3 ground shaker.

I did the passenger side Ground Shaker 10" and a 2 ohm JL Audio 10W1v3 paired with the Kicker Key 500.1. Used the B&O sub lead. Sounds great. Clean. I did take the plastic bins out and used a whole box of sound deadening back there. Also open foam on the bins. Sound-deadening the Maverick makes a huge difference.
