I’ve got my subwoofer tapped to the rear pillar speakers as I’ve read about here on several different posts. I’ve got sound, but not a lot of it. Even with the volume all the way up. Any suggestions?

Oops, maybe this doesn’t go in rigs. I’ll repost an electronics.

Yeah, it’s what I use. Couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t work. Crutchfield recommended this and I haven’t had any issues since

Hi.

If I'm not mistaken the frequency on the rear speakers is tuned to lower the amount of bass you can get to the speakers, someone mention in forscan there's a setting to set EQ it properly.

Never did it myself, but from what I read it does help.

Yes @The Cyber Orange Guy , I’ve been reading those. I’ll try @Miguelinfest ’s suggestion first. Not sure I want to dive into FORSCAN. Thanks!

Honestly it's super easy to do as long as you have a laptop and a wired or wireless OBD port adapter.

I did it tonight it literally took 5 minutes, once you're in forscan you go into the ACM module in easy mode, scroll down to EQ Special Modes and switch the EQ setting to Flat. Although even after I set mine to flat I don't notice any at all bass coming out of the rear mounted 4" speakers.

So it may or may not make much difference at all, I'm going to say tapping the front speakers for your high level signal to your amplifier will give you the best results. When I do get ready to install my amp and sub and upgrade my speakers closer to Christmas time That's the route I plan on going.

Just to make note - if you're looking to get that really low frequency bass out of a 4" speaker, you won't. The speaker's output will generally start falling off in volume as you drop below 80, maybe 70 Hz. It's just the physics of the small driver.

If I venture into adding a subwoofer to mine (I have the B&O), I will probably do just that. Once installed, I will want the lower frequencies available.

Is the low end filter adjustable? I mean, below 40 hz or so, I would rather have it drop off, even though there isn't a lot of music that actually presents frequencies much below 40.

I wasn't looking to get low frequencies from the 4-in drivers I was only expecting to hear some low frequencies at all. What I was trying to say is that it seems Ford either in the settings of the radio or with a built-in capacitor has the low frequencies cut off to the rear speakers.

What I am suggesting is that MLC 2023 needs to tap into his front speakers in order to get a full signal to his sub but then again the rears may work fine at getting a low signal the OEM 4-in speakers may have cut off crossover built into the speaker itself. As most people would know of 4-in speaker is not going to produce much if any low frequency. I'm sure that whoever makes the OEM speakers has them crossed over to keep people from blowing them.

Quite possibly. I don't know a lot about the stock system. Heck, I don't really know much about the B&O system other than it has a small sub. I doubt it puts out much below 60 Hz as is, regardless of the filter setting.

Yeah the huh hmm B&O sub doesn't do much, is it better than nothing? Yes, but not a lot better. It's only a cheap 6x9 speaker made from a paper cone like most all the OEM speakers.

You'll want to tap the front speakers for any bass signals.

The easiest way to tap the fronts is to pop the climate controls panel off, and the plugs are right behind it. Super easy to get to. That panel just pops right off if you pull it straight back. Then you can get one of these little guys, so you don't have to cut a single factory wire : https://www.crutchfield.com/p_541LPHFD31/PAC-LPHFD31-LocPro-Advanced-T-Harness.html?omnews=18429741

On another note, I'm thinking that enclosure is quite a bit too small for the sub you're using. You're not going to get much low bass from that. I'm not trying to be a downer, but rather trying to temper expectations. I would try to get more air space for that sub for sure with a little larger enclosure.

I'll also whole heartedly agree with the Forscan Flat EQ change!!! You won't notice the difference on factory speakers, but you will absolutely notice on a subwoofer. It is a cake walk to do, since it is in easy mode. I hope that helps!
