Been driving all my years in old cars. Want to buy with cash.
1. Will dealers except cash without charging me a higher price then if I bought with financing?
2. What strategy should I use when talking on line to get best price in august when trying to purchase.
3. Should i let salesperson know I am trying to purchase with cash

Any thing else you can tell me about purchasing to get best price? thank you

For the best OTD price, agree to finance the truck at a high intrest rate, then immediately pay it off. The dealer "may" take into consideration the kickback from the finance company for the loan.

If you try to buy ANYTHING with more than $5000 cash, be prepared to have OR fill out paperwork to prove to the US government EXACTLY where that money came from. If you tell them, "I saved it for a long time.", be prepared to have it siezed at drug or crime money.

I have never been questioned by IRS for buying anything with 5k in cash; sounds like some kind of conspiracy theory to me. If I was OP, I would have my price finalized with sales manager signature before it ever became known that I was paying cash.

They have incentives to get you to finance, not pay for it in cash. If you pay cash, then pretty much the price is the price. Todays market they will sell to someone, they don't get care if it is u or joe schmoe as long as they make a profit. I've waved a sack of money Infront of dealer before, they wouldn't budge.

Example: Hyundai financing, take there financing and they will shave off $1500 off the sticker.

Take their financing, use the cash to pay the whole thing off. It's like paying with cash upfront and still getting the discount. You just have to eat the credit pull

The threshold is $10,000 for REPORTING the transaction. And it would be foolish to walk around with the $20K plus taxes, tags and other charges that even a base Maverick would cost.

Instead, get the price you will pay and show up with a certified check for that amount. Any small difference, pay with a credit card.

If you do that, you won't have any issues.

I wonder if people believing the world is flat think others saying the world is round is a conspiracy theory😱

Someone's been watching too many movies.... If OP brings in a bag of cash, which I don't think he intends to do, then it would be questionable but I'm pretty sure he means cash as in a personal check or cashier's check.

Secondly, OP should never reveal his intentions to pay cash. Negotiate the best deal possible and if it involves financing, take it. Just be sure there is no early pay off penalties or restrictions. Then pay it all off with the first bill.

As I'm sure you know, it's a sellers market currently, and probably will remain for the next year at least. Are you looking to order, or find a Mav in stock? Will probably be tough to find any stock without ADM, without LOTS of leg work. Be prepared. If you order, find a dealer willing to sign the buyers order for your agreed upon price, in cash. You'll have a better chance getting a truck at MSRP if you order, vs pulling from stock.

Be prepared to cycle through a bunch of dealers until you find a good one.

Good luck!

Right. I was going to order on line in August 15.
I just didn't know if dealers except cash buys or are they trying to get the loans.
Should I not say cash deal until they give me a price based on i.e. 5 year loan.
And then a bit later after giving me a price, tell them I want to use cash instead
and use that quoted price

I thought if you pay a car off lets say the next month there is a penalty for doing so. Has anyone experienced this/

What you said brings me to my original question. is dealer going to give me the better price if I agree to finance or pay in cash?
Can I agree to a finance deal to get better price and pay off loan within next month with out
a pay off loan penalty/
