As a kid I was fortunate enough to have an encyclopedia set. If I had a question about something out of the realm of my parent's knowledge, I checked the encyclopedia.

If the encyclopedia didn't have the answer, I pedalled down to the library and, once I figured out card catalogs, the Dewey Decimal System and microfiche, I did pretty well for my young self.

Perhaps that's how I learned to answer most of my own questions. Perhaps that's why I see the Internet as such an information gold mine, though AI seems to be another step in the enshittification of the overall Internet function.

Be curious. Use search engines to ask questions. If you aren't good at it, learn how. Download manuals, as electronic ones are way easier to search than paper ones. But also get a paper one, because where your truck breaks down will surely not be on the cellular coverage map.

If you find yourself getting worked up to the point of writing a rage post, simply close the browser tab, open a new one, go to PornHub, and go to town on yourself. Clearly you need some "me time", and you might find that the urge to post so vigorously has left your body and is now in the wastebasket.

Peace.

I’ve had my Marverick for three months and I still can’t figure out the climate control system.
I’m pretty convinced there’s a bug. Yup, I’m sure of it.

I don't know. Scolding others about scolding others always seems like a safe bet.

Life would be pretty boring without the range of personalities that contribute, in 1 way or another, to this forum. Rather than let someone get in your head, take advantage of the "ignore" feature.

HRG
Great advice. FYI you can also ignore entire threads. It's a great alternative to replying with "that looks stupid" or "not for me."

I just love how it's always, "To that guy." You know, women own Mavericks too, right? Also, you're a new member to this forum and you're gonna start off with rage and condescension? That's a sure fire way to get scolded right off the bat, as evident of the responses here. I would think you would want to start off positively in order to set a good impression for other members on here. This way, they're actually willing to help you out. Not a good first impression.

🖐 Hey 😳 👈 I am 'that guy'.
Below is the thread that's being referenced.
I was post #2

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/more-info-on-doors-locking.65602/#post-1093805

I didn't say anything that was out of line or condescending.
I know there are a few members on the forum that do Not own or use cell phones.
I was offering advice, as to how easy it is, (if a cell is owned) to post a picture as a visual reference versus trying to describe everything.

Update.
Since an accusation of belittling was made.
I might as well go ahead and fulfill it.
Mitch, you may have owned a cell phone since they were in bags. If you're still using your present smartphone like you did your bag phone you haven't evolved much in the use of technology.

Using your phone you you can post a picture immediately after taking it to the forum you don't need a PC or laptop.

When someone posts a picture of what they have done to their Maverick to "customize" it, and they specifically ask for comments, they shouldn't be offended by someone posting their honest opinion that they believe it looks like crap. Others may respond in their opinion that they absolutely love it. If they truly want objective criticism they should be willing to accept both the adolation and the negative comments. Can't ask for comments and expect it only one way.

Possibly the OP needs to LEARN to use the SEARCH function of the FORUMS before asking something that has been asked over and over? yes hes new and yes us older members might need to lay off the coffee ourselves. But Again using the search PRIOR to posting is paramount.

Of course. If you specifically ask for comments, then you get what you get. I would argue that the majority of posts about mods are not explicitly asking for aesthetic opinions though.

Personally I find that whole concept of needing acceptance and validation weird, given that each of us own our own trucks, but I certainly can't deny it happens.

#1 I've had my 2025 Maverick XLT 2 weeks! Does everyone know EVERYTHING about their 2025 Maverick XLT when they' had it 2 weeks? I bet they don't! #2 To the guy who thinks that ALL Ford vehicles have the Lock/unlock feature in the door handles, they don't! I had a 2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid, and a 2020 Ford Fusion at the same time! Neither had that feature! #3 To the guy who needs photos for everything I send. You might have to wait a while!!!! I have a few OTHER more important things to get done in my life first!!!! By the way, to that guy, I know how cell phones work! I've used them since they were a bag phone! You know, it's amazing! I joined this group to find out about MY vehicle. Things that have gone wrong! But there's ALWAYS people in social media sites that HAVE TO belittle other with their supposed knowledge! What does THAT GET YOU? What it does for me is make it so I will keep my information to myself!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not everyone is going to know everything about their new vehicle. No.

#1 - Sometimes the salesman is knowledgeable and points out some unusual things, if they think you are new to Ford. They may have heard you had Ford's already and their lack of knowledge assumed they are all close enough on features. Obviously wrong.
Some new owners will read the manual - in this case no paper copy, so they should have pointed out where to get it for easy reading. You should have asked where it was too frankly.
Some will watch the videos of good reviewers. Ya, some are a waste of time for learning anything beyond specs the sales material pointed out, others are better.
Can also scan down thread titles for posts that seem to be interesting and fit the bill - if posters title them appropriately. This takes effort and time.
Some will use the power of Google, which MTC supposedly uses for search, but I'm not sure why it's not as good sometimes.

#2 - what you'll find on MTC sometimes - lack of knowledge regarding features that are different on different trims, now on different 25MY and trims.
What makes it harder is when the user profile info does NOT contain that trim info - hybrid or EB ain't enough by a long shot, more details under Vehicles area would be better. But that doesn't show up when using a mobile device - so it can easily be missed by other posters with assumptions, especially when a post is lacking in details the poster didn't realize were important to include.

#3 - if you've read enough threads you'll discover just how useful that is. Perhaps the normal function of keyless entry not so much - but in general it is when things are claimed to be a problem. Allows everyone to compare with their own experience and usually know right off what the issue or at least difference is.
As to cell phone ability - most know how take pics yes, some may not connect posting on MTC with cell phone to make uploading easier. Instead of assuming and a followup posting asking how to do it - 1 sentence was included for potential education, if not needed, big whoop.

You joined MTC to find out about YOUR truck - great.
But YOU got to be able to show you are willing to expend some effort to know about YOUR truck.
Indeed many social sites have this effect when it has a focus like MTC, where knowledge can be gained a couple of ways.
A special unicorn will enter and want specific answers because they are too lazy to do the least little thing. Not realizing there is nothing special about their question.
Not sure if that is brushing against the Dunning-Kruger effect, or another one.

That's why the MTC welcome email, I think first login too - contains a couple of comments about useful etiquette that most sites actually inform 1st time users of.

I have no idea if these are good reviewers. Probably can't hurt!
