I want to upgrade the factory speakers in my new Maverick. I have no issues selecting the speakers I want, but what I do have an issue with is I have no Idea how to remove the door panels to change the door panel speakers nor the dash to replace the dash mounted speakers. Are there any how-to guides or videos showing step-by-step how to do this? I've been unable to find any help with general Google searches. I've even considered having the dealer do the door panel and dash panel remove and re-install, but I know that's going to cost major moolah.

Here's the sub forum for electronics that includes numerous posts on speaker installs. Do also consider purchasing from Crutchfield, as their prices are competitive and they give you all of the Maverick-specific installation notes that you will need.

That's what I did. Both searched the sub and bought from them.

Yeah there's quite a few videos on YouTubel. I Believe crutchfield also shows you, the only ones that are a pain in the butt are the rear speakers. As the metal clips on the top of the plastic panel or a pain to get out I found it easiest using a metal panel pry tool as well as a long flat screwdriver.

After taking off the door panel, how the heck do you get off the black plastic panel to access inside the door skin to lay the sound deadening material- like Dynamat, Noico, etc...asking for a friend 😉

Something I learned the hard way after tearing off one of the clips is that they're in a channel. There's a gap/opening where they slide in and can be pulled out from. If you push the panel up from the bottom with a good amount of force while pulling forward they just slide out, but finding the right spot can be tough.

I'm not saying they're not tricky - they definitely are a pain - but you shouldn't need to pry them off.

Yep I noticed that too as well when I replaced my rear pillar speakers. Not the hardest in the world to do but definitely those clips with the slide up channel make it a pain in the ass.

I can definitely see where somebody would just grab the panel and yank thinking it would pop out and most likely just break the plastic clips off and they'd be stuck in the rear panel sheet metal.

Thank you for that information, and I totally agree about Crutchfield. I have been buying car and home audio gear from Crutchfield for over 35 years and wouldn't consider buying from anyone else.
