I love the fuel argument.

go bust out a calculator and let me know how long it’ll take to recoup the 30k difference.

let me know when they finally refresh a model.

With time lost to recalls and breakdowns, the payback time is years from now.

Why feel the need to even respond then??

Respectfully, then why are you commenting on this specific thread? I actually enjoy reading others thoughts and experiences that pertain to other vehicles. You get to choose which thread to click on. If a thread doesn't interest you, go to another one. We all have a choice but to be honest, having people like you come and add pointless comments ruins the experience because it doesn't contribute to nothing. If you have something worth sharing, great, I would like to read it. If not, move on.
Because it is tiring seeing thread after thread about people complaining about how long it’s taking or threads like this where they announce their departure
I clicked because I was expecting to see the OP’s new Tesla, I love Teslas…. I’ve rented them in the past and was about to buy one until we decided a new house was a better choice
Was surprised they just ordered one (hopefully the waitlists are shorter as reported)
I pass over tons of threads that don’t interest me
I chose to respond in this one to encompass my thoughts of multiple thread posts a week

Feel free to block me if you don’t want to read my comments
I’ve not said anything offensive as far as I know

Recalls and breakdowns? I've had my Model Y since April 20th, 2020 with zero visits to service. All of those "recalls" that you are referring to have been over the air updates (or maybe other Teslas?). I've never owned such a carefree car with no maintenance required. Oh wait. I've put washer fluid in it about 6 times, so there's that.

There was one time that I was running down a 4-lane highway running about 60mph, there was a tesla that pulling onto the highway, they were about 2 car lengths ahead of me when they got straightened up and the front bumper made it to about my rear door of a 2006 Mercury Mariner(Ford Escape) before it was matching my speed before increasing the distance between us.....call me impressed:giggle:

dang - $56,990! That's almost $30,000 more than my XLT AWD with 4K and lux package. And Fx4!

It was $69,990 last week.
Guessing you might make too much to qualify for the $7,500 EV credit? Or are happy with the price of the Performance.

The Model Y is classified as a car (unless you get the 7 person config, which you can't on Performance) and the EV credit is capped for vehicles costing $55k and less.

Per Tesla:

I'm considering trading my Model 3 LR for a Model Y Long Range (Gray + hitch) that will come in at $54,990 and still qualify for the EV credit.

The washer fluid reservoir is kind of small now that you mention it. What a total junk vehicle and company!

Correct, I don’t qualify for the EV tax credit. I figure I’ll get mine pretty quick because I wasn’t trying to hit the metrics above.
