Hello! This coming Thursday afternoon I will be taking delivery of my new 2024 XLT Hybrid.
This has been in the works for the past 3 weeks with a few moving parts and the finish line is in sight.
My wife and I are located in southern York County just a couple of miles above the Mason-Dixon Line. (If there are any members in the same general area I’m looking forward to hearing from you…)
Particulars for the vehicle…
Color: Carbonized Gray Metallic
Interior: Navy Pier - Medium Slate Trim
Equipment Group: 300A
Extras: Trailer Hitch Receiver & Co-Pilot 360
This particular truck started off as a special order but the original customer ended up bagging it due to the amount of time it was taking for the build and delivery.
We “just went looking” to see what was out there and after a test drive decided to buy it.
I’m trading in a 2016 Subaru Outback with 173,000 miles on it.
We had a 1999 F-150 that we bought used and had for about 15 years. The engine threw a rod about a year and a half ago and we hadn’t planned to buy another truck as both of our children are grown and we don’t do any of the big projects we used to do when we were younger.
However this spring with gardening season arriving, multiple trips for bagged mulch loaded in the Outback I made a strong argument for the need of a truck. The price of full size trucks, the lack of a basic regular cab, no frills model started to put a damper on things.
I had been curious about the Maverick since its introduction and I asked our sales representative if there were any on the lot. Turns out there were 3 - a Lariat and two XLT’s.
The Lariat was a bit more than we were ready to spend. After looking at the XLT’s I settled on the one we’re getting and took a test drive. We were pleasantly surprised with how acceptably roomy it is and the drive proved to be a success. The decision was made.
This introduction is getting a little long winded so I’ll end with I’m glad to be a member and look forward to the journey.
