Hello! This coming Thursday afternoon I will be taking delivery of my new 2024 XLT Hybrid.

This has been in the works for the past 3 weeks with a few moving parts and the finish line is in sight.

My wife and I are located in southern York County just a couple of miles above the Mason-Dixon Line. (If there are any members in the same general area I’m looking forward to hearing from you…)

Particulars for the vehicle…

Color: Carbonized Gray Metallic
Interior: Navy Pier - Medium Slate Trim
Equipment Group: 300A
Extras: Trailer Hitch Receiver & Co-Pilot 360

This particular truck started off as a special order but the original customer ended up bagging it due to the amount of time it was taking for the build and delivery.

We “just went looking” to see what was out there and after a test drive decided to buy it.

I’m trading in a 2016 Subaru Outback with 173,000 miles on it.

We had a 1999 F-150 that we bought used and had for about 15 years. The engine threw a rod about a year and a half ago and we hadn’t planned to buy another truck as both of our children are grown and we don’t do any of the big projects we used to do when we were younger.

However this spring with gardening season arriving, multiple trips for bagged mulch loaded in the Outback I made a strong argument for the need of a truck. The price of full size trucks, the lack of a basic regular cab, no frills model started to put a damper on things.

I had been curious about the Maverick since its introduction and I asked our sales representative if there were any on the lot. Turns out there were 3 - a Lariat and two XLT’s.

The Lariat was a bit more than we were ready to spend. After looking at the XLT’s I settled on the one we’re getting and took a test drive. We were pleasantly surprised with how acceptably roomy it is and the drive proved to be a success. The decision was made.

This introduction is getting a little long winded so I’ll end with I’m glad to be a member and look forward to the journey.

The eCVT in the hybrid is going to spoil you.

Also, as someone who has downsized from a "real truck" to the Maverick, I will say the Maverick does a lot! Hauling 10' lumber is less than ideal, but everything else fits fine!

You will also be compelled to participate in the fuel efficiency fight on the forum. I think someone recently broke 900 miles on a single tank.

I have ordered my Hybrid XL from my dealer. The only options I am getting is the CoPilot360 and floor liners. He tells me it will take 3 to 6 months. Any experience on that? I am excited!

No experience with ordering and waiting and delivery - it was only by happenstance that we lucked into one sitting on the lot. Sticker shows the date of 3/24/2024…

Enjoy! I've enjoyed mine thus far. Never thought I'd get better mileage than my 19 Fusion Titanium Hybrid; but this Maverick has the Fusion beat! Which is good, cause now I can afford fuel for my 16mpg 36 Buick....

If you haven't had a truck in awhile it makes fun things like random tailgate lunches an option, also being able to put stinky things in the bed without the rear hatch - a tonneau cover now gives you another platform to store things while camping or moving things about. Enjoy -

Thanks! I’m really leaning towards a cap rather than a tonneau cover. I had one on the F-150 and like the additional protected capacity. I’ve also read a few posts as to the water intrusion issues.

1st item to be addressed is a spray-in bed liner.
