On the other thread, it was noted that there are differing smog ratings on hybrid configurations. For example, mine is a "7" (see below), others have reported a "6." I am curious what the reason for this is.

So, here's mine, on an XL Hybrid, with CP-360, and hitch receiver. Or perhaps it is the Area-51 paint that makes the difference? ;)

Post yours below, if interested.

A"6" for me. XL hybrid, hitch, and moon roof. Seriously if it's due to the moon roof 😂

Could be that the vehicle's actual weight matters and more weight causes the ICE engine to run a little more often.

For those who get actual hybrid deliveries could you post both the Smog rating and the Bed weight capacity listed on the driver side door frame.
But the gross vehicle weight would be the same, wouldn't it?

I'm pretty sure the difference is due to location, and whether it shows California standards or Federal standards (CA being more strict)

This is it.

See here: Frequent Questions on the Smog Rating | US EPA
There are cases in which two vehicles may look identical (same make and model), but have different smog ratings. This is generally due to the vehicle being certified to, and/or sold in, different states (one with federal standards, and another with California standards). Two situations can occur:
It appears as though the hybrid received a 6 and a 7. One was Fed and the other is California.

This (post # 38) is in California and has received a 6:

So the speculation that California gets the worse rating than other states has been proven wrong.

The only window sticker with a 7 is from Washington but there are only 4 samples so far. We need more to form a pattern.

The Washington one has a pretty simple build of " XL, Hybrid, Area 51, Co-pilot 360, and Trailer Hitch Receiver" so for speculation it does appear that Washington has different ratings.

Yes, the thread is about hybrids, I changed the title to be clear.

The EB is lower, as expected.

But ... "Ultimately, the fuel economy labels that are affixed to these vehicles on dealership lots will always reflect the federal standard." (from the URL above, almost the last line.)
Saw that after I posted. Only thing I can think of is that the "virtual" stickers are different than the "deal lot" printed stickers.

Remember that Ford stated in the email with the Hybrid EPA MPG ratings that the next thing that was needed was the EPA Federal and States emissions ratings.

So maybe we should be looking at the window stickers for which states have completed their ratings and which states are holding up the OKTB.

From the other thread and this one these are the States that have completed emissions testing:

Alabama
California
Florida
Minnesota
North Carolina
Ohio
Washington
Wisconsin? - didn't state his order was a Hybrid but posted in the Hybrid Windows Sticker forum

I am so freaking done with California. I'd love to move to another state but I fear i would be looked down on once they learned i was from California. Maybe i could say i was from Canada...
