Nice!I saw your crate in the back of your truck and thought to mention, at least Ford put some consideration in the bed size. I can put a crate with a 20 lb propane cylinder in behind the wood and I can close the tonneau cover to keep it secure.![]()
how thick is the cushion on the mat?Stall Mat from Tractor Supply ($50) cut to fit bed and just enough left over to mount to the tailgate. It can be flipped over to the smooth side.

Something like the anti-fatigue mats that can be found at Harbor Freight.
Now this is a tush-cush.
I would opt to have it available but not attached. I load too many different things to have it all messed up when I need that infamous Butt Break.

At 72 I still do it, sometimes I have a problem. I still think about someday getting hurt, but still do it anyways! It’s said that when you get past 40 you can no longer step up or hop up on a pickup truck tailgate. And you are afraid to just jump down.
This 66 year old can still hop and jump on and off my truck tailgate.
Longevity is directly related to muscle strength.
I’ll prolly break my freaking neck jumping down one day right !
I went the cheap route. This is a $30 outdoor mat from Home depot. Trimmed to fit it leaves just the right amount for the tailgate. I attached with screws that hold the tailgate plate on. Happy so far.Not permanent- attached with outdoor Velcro
I appreciate that but your mat is not cushioned enough for me.I went the cheap route. This is a $30 outdoor mat from Home depot. Trimmed to fit it leaves just the right amount for the tailgate. I attached with screws that hold the tailgate plate on. Happy so far.

BooyahSo, why have I never seen this suggested? A kitchen or office cushioned standing pad on your tailgate, secured with strong wide outdoor Velcro strips. Makes the tailgate much easier on the butt or knees.

It can. I have both on my MaverickWondering if this could be used even if you opted for the spray in liner?

Great idea. I have the bed rug, but would at times appreciate more cushion. Looks like the fit is darn near perfect. Do you have a link? So, why have I never seen this suggested?
