Absolutely no reason to think the hybrids run with "much higher rpm's".Double edge sword here.

I'll bet quite a lot of money the opposite is true. I have a data logger. Driving normally with the normal flow of traffic, 50/50 city / highway in a one hour trip speeds zero to 70 mph....
MY HYBRID NEVER GOES ABOVE 2400 rpm.
What does your Ecoboost hit daily?
