Called my dealer (not sure if I should say the dealer name) on Tuesday he said he'd call me on Wednesday after he checked on what the process is going to look like for the 17th.

He never called back so I called back on Thursday and left a voicemail, then again on Friday and the manager said oh I'll make sure he gives you a call back.

No call back..... so I called again today from my work number and guess what..... He answered.

Spoke with his manager who stated they have no information about the process on Monday, and they have no information regarding price increases or options blah blah blah.

When I stated that Ford already released a bunch of information that's been shared online they said (in not these exact words) well that's just mis information you're gathering on forms and youtube.

My truck is still unscheduled/clean so that's no worry, but I travel for work and had to cancel a business trip due to not receiving information from my dealer on how to handle the order process for rolling over.

What are your thoughts on this? Am I right to be pissed that it seems like everyone else knows what's going on with this whole situation but my dealer seems to be chasing butterflies instead of actually trying to make their customers comfortable with the fact they've been waiting almost a year (if not more!) For a truck that if I bail out they'll just ramp the price up and make a fine profit on?

Can I change dealerships or am I stuck with this one?

I would place a 24 order with another dealer unless you had to give the current slime balls a deposit.

The dealer should have access to the info now.... We don't know exactly when the order banks will open (most like around 4pm EST on Monday).

There is lots of misinformation on forums, etc. But the actually order guides and price lists have been released here.

Ford recommends sticking w/ the same dealer. It may be possible to change... but the new dealer will have to reach out to your reps to get them to do some things to make sure the order is prioritized like the rest of the carryovers.

This prioritization should be easy and automatic if you stick with the same dealer. Switching certainly adds some complexity, but, if your first dealer is likely to drop the ball..... maybe taking the risk w/ added complexity may actually be to your benefit!

I think you were talking with a Honda dealer.

According to other Ford dealers if your 2023 is currently unscheduled you have to have the dealer put in a 2024 order the 17th or 18th with your exact name, same 2023 order number and SAME dealer. If a different dealer you won't get a private offer for price differences. Ford prioritizes it ahead of new orders because so many dealers screwed up the 2022 rollover prioritizations.

Call the sales manager and tell him that you evidently know more about ordering Mavericks than he does and he can hire you for $100/hr to come in and train him and his staff how to do it.

Steer Clear of Shottenkirk Ford in Granbury, TX....
So, I've been looking for an XLT Hybrid with the Lux pkg for months. Got a call late June from a sales rep with Shottenkirk Ford in Granbury, TX about a new Maverick that was in to be in production soon and there were no customers assigned to the build. I pulled the trigger the next day on the vehicle and paid a $1000 deposit. I had a signed buyer's worksheet between me and the sales mgr on June 26th. Since then I had phone conversations and exchanged text messages with them numerous times. The vehicle was shipped on or about July 3rd and the dealer received it on July 12th. I received an email from their service dept saying it has passed inspection later that day and had a text message also on July 12th confirming that I would pick up the vehicle on Saturday, July 15th.

About noon today, July 13th, I get a call from the sales rep stating that Ford made an error and the vehicle was being sold to another customer as a customer order. No explanation other than it was an issue with Ford. I asked to speak to the GM who took for ever to call me back.

Meanwhile, I called Ford customer care and they said that this was a dealer issue and they had no control of to whom the dealership sells a vehicle.

Several hours later I got a call from the GM and he said there was nothing he could do other than refund my deposit and the sales mgr would be should never has allowed this situation to happen. He said all he could do is refund me my deposit. That he could do nothing else, and again said it was a problem with Ford. He stated that this Maverick was a "stock order" placed in March of 2023, which seemed odd to me....thinking Ford was not accepting any new orders since Oct 2022. So, if it was a stock order, wouldn't this would have been for dealer inventory and not a specific customer build ( someone posted that a green window sticker was for a customer order and blue was for dealer stock - this was a blue window Sticker)???

Personally, I think they found someone who would pay a $5k market adjustment in addition, which they tried on me when I first spoke to the sales rep. We later agreed to a "protection pkg and tint" at an extra $2490 over MSRP just to get the deal done. I hear the hybrids will be an extra $1500 in 2024, not to mention any other price increase from 23 to 24.

So now I am back to ordering a 2024 on Monday, when order banks open. I think I'll order 2 from different local dealers here in town...Wish me luck!

Weird my dealer called me last night and asked for my build information for my 24. I told him exactly the same build as my 23. I ordered in September and picked up in may so by keeping everything the same I will get lucky with the 24 also. I read some of the comments on here and think I must have been really lucky to get mine with no problems and no add on crap. SUNRISE FORD IN FONTANA CA. Ask for Miguel. I think he’s taking orders at 10am

I think LIAR is probably an appropriate term. Maybe they earned an allocation in March and did a stock order.

Good grief. A business should make an example of good faith in transactions as in the end that is the real stock and trade they depend on.

It's like $2500 worth of nitrogen, tint, and useless add-on BS wasn't enough because they found somebody willing to pay more. What they did is hardly different from the poster who found himself involved in a silent auction type bidding contest in another thread.
