Some persistent quality issues over the past two months were bothersome enough that I put my equity towards a Taco while there is still equity to be had.
It’s been real. Best of luck to ya’ll! ✌ 🤙

I can certainly relate. Maybe you frequented some of the same marginal service departments that gave me pause on long-term ownership.

Congrats on the Taco, it looks nice!

Smart move. If Tacoma's weren't outrageously overpriced in the used market right now, in my area, I would do the same thing.

What persistent quality issues? You're not a fly by night member here - long time contributor - so I'm interested in your story.

I too gave up on a Ford (2021 Bronco Base Sasquatch) because of terribly quality after just 78 days.

Maverick has been a different story for me (at least in initial quality).

I am also wondering about your quality issues. My Maverick has had 0 issues (except for airbag recall and an update to fix a software issue for my hitch). I have my EcoBoost Mav for 22 months.

I'm also curious.

Quality issues with the Maverick itself or with service at the dealership.

Interesting that the OP experienced bad enough issues that he got rid of his Maverick and bought a Tacoma but never posted about these issues.

Funny, I came from a Taco to the Maverick lol. A lifted TRD no less.

Cant say I blame you especially if you were one to have a lot of issues with their Maverick, but those 3rd gens are definitely dated. Coming from an XL to an SR though... really no different in terms of options. I personally still think the Tacoma is a better truck, but it's bigger, gets awful MPG, and didn't have the features I felt a $40k truck should have (sad that it was $37k fully loaded in 2020 and just 3 short years later it's now well over $45k too for the same dated setup). Honestly, if some of those creature features were updated when I got mine, like they seem to be on the new ones, I would have just kept it. No doubt it would run forever - which is what worries me about the Maverick lol. But that's why I chose the EB and not the Hybrid (shots fired, don't take it personal). It's "mostly" reliable and doesn't have a recall involving a crankshaft randomly grenading the engine. Can I ask what issues you had with your EB though? Or just the overall "cheap" quality control that plagues a majority of modern FORD vehicles?

You may enjoy the simplicity of oil changes though. It uses a plastic housing which some people hate, but it grew on me. Paired with the TRD skid plate, it was a breeze to change the oil and there was never any mess with that filter housing. Just have to be careful with the o-ring and not over torqueing it. I did find some things strange though... like no rear wheel wells so all the dirt and grime just got kicked up all over the inside of the fender and tail lights. Thought that was very strange and cheap. But overall it was a good truck.

Also, stay away from TacomaWorld.com - that place is a cesspool. If you think some of the people here are bad, find your safe space before doing anything on that forum.

Well, yes and no... Not everyone feels the need to share every pro and con with the general public. Some think the recalls speak loud enough. But yea, it's a bit strange with their history here and a recent post like this:

So I'm also curious what issues OP had. Of course, now that they decided to trade in we'll get every single small nitpicking detail...

Maybe the OP isn't one to discuss the problems, rather move on.

As many of you know, I'm also a long-time contributor, but I got labeled as a "chronic complainer troll" by some for even mentioning my Maverick's issues and lack of resolution.

I wasn't kidding about the possible service department factor, we are from the same area.

Two crazy tidbits I pulled from that article.......OP had already bought the extended warranty

And OP Is 6'4" and just bought a Taco......

Guess I don't really need to hear what they didn't like about the Mav.....
