Was looking under my Maverick today and found some really concerning rust in the pinch welds below the rocker panels. I’ve had it for less than a week and less than 500 miles. Taking it in on Thursday to hopefully get it repaired under warrantee.

Thanks for the heads up!

Looks like there's also some dirt on the rocker panel edge, so perhaps some paint was scraped away while driving off-road? Other than that, all of the other rusty spots are totally normal.
That’s not dirt, it’s rust. I tried scraping it off and it’s stuck on there. Also I’ve not taken this thing off any paved road or even out of the city yet for that matter. The only “off-roading” it has seen is going through my campus’s crappy parking lots.

Hard to tell from the photo, but the gray bits on the rocker panel edges look like dirt or mud. But maybe it's just exposed metal?--which would explain the rust. Either way, cleaning it up and applying some paint should get it sorted out and prevent rust in the future. I expect the dealer can sort this out. But the rust elsewhere is normal.

I found a tiny amount of rust on the pinch wields and some missing coating nearby. Applied ACF-50 to the exposed bits and taking it to the dealer tomorrow to inquire about it.

Wherever there is bare metal you will have rust. The underside of any vehicle will be rusty in no time.

For some of the rocker panel pinch welds, I can't tell exactly where they are located (don't have my Mav yet to compare) but the tie-down straps could have rubbed those spots during transport. I have seen smaller transport trailers with 3 new cars on them going from lot to lot and thought to myself "they must be rubbing the paint" with how they are strapped down.

I don’t see anything the dealer will entertain.
Yes, you have some rust.
No they didn’t make a stainless steel truck.
The pictures show normal ageing I’ve seen on everything ever manufactured.
While I might be wrong, the paint scraping on the pinchweld looks like someone used a jack to jack it up at one point.
So grab a can of undercoat and give it a quick shot.
Nothing to lose sleep over IMO.

The warranty doesn’t expire in a few days so I would keep it a little bit longer before hitting the dealer for warranty repairs.

It's a Ford. It's going to rust
My last F150 rotted so badly I had to junk it. Frame rotted too. I am taking a chance buying the Maverick but I dont plan on keeping it long until I go full EV.
