That's why I said they wouldn't cover it, ALL manufacturers are very very discerning when it comes to rust perforation claims. I've dealt with it before and I could 100% tell that the damage was a result of a stone chip, just unlucky that you didn't notice it sooner because it could have been better contained. Unfortunately the Maverick has less than great paint to begin with and I'm sure the steel that was sourced for production during COVID times is some of the lowest quality steel that has been used in car manufacturing in many many years since it's just another place manufacturers have had to cut corners as a result of inflation. I suggest repairing this out of pocket ASAP and maybe thinking about PPF (Ceramic coating doesn't really protect anything) to keep it from a) spreading and b) happening again.Just to update everyone. Ford denied warranty repair - reason being a chip in the location. Chip or not, I've never had a vehicle rust like this at this rapid rate. My 21 year old LX470 has rock chips all over the quarter panels, hood, doors, and roof and even if they spot rust it never spreads under the paint like this. Definitely resets my expectations with this vehicle.
