Read this on another chat board - take this as nothing more than rumor.

One anonymous person on 4chan claiming they have a friend, who is claiming they have a faulty plug, while also claiming they did nothing to make it faulty.

Even *if* that's all true, 1 faulty plug does not equal a widespread issue or recall. It means 1 part was defective. Anything electrical has this potential, there's never a 0% failure rate. If it's real there's Ford should for sure look into it and see the cause to make sure it isn't something something that will repeat but there's no reason for end users to be worried as of yet.

Hasn't been an issue with mine, and I used it for 17 days on a road trip out west; because the Mav has only one USB outlet, we had a 110-volt charger plugged into the outlet. It was handy and we had no issues.

lol 4chan. It would be more credible if it was an article from MotorBiscuit.

Sounds like someone's going to have to start a class-action lawsuit. ;)

Also if someone put a device that shored the outlet the FUSE would blow.

Maybe the idiot who did this plugged in a toaster and set it to high and burnt their toast. Hence the smoke.
