My hybrid XLT has almost 18k miles and everything has been so far more or less great. One of the small hiccups is the rough idle of my gas engine. I thought after the software update to fix the catalytic converter overheating issue, the update also took care of the rough idle. But it is not the case and each time I am waiting on the red light and the gas engine idles, it feels like someone pushes constantly the gas pedal and lets it go. While the auto brake is on the truck wants to take off and comes back (like a wild horse lol). Any idea what it could be and if there is a fix. As mentioned before, I had that since the very beginning and meanwhile I drove almost 18k without any big issues so I don't know if this is a big deal but I still would love to understand what is going on there. Thank you for your input!

For a while I chopped it up to just one of the quirks of the Mav until my check engine light came on after an especially rough cold idle. I got to 13,000 miles.

Mine does something similar when it's cold out and the engine is cold. It very gently rocks kind of like you describe, like someone's tapping the gas. But it's subtle

It has been at the shop since Friday and nothing from them. I’ll call tomorrow to see WTF.
Sorry to hear, hope they can fix it quickly.

Mine does this too, cold first start of the day first red light car is nudging itself forward, t doesn’t actually physically move but you can feel the truck shake as if I’m hitting the gas and brake pedal at same time

Well described, mine does same - I expect Ford to come out with a pcm flash at some point, almost like the truck is 'pulsing', when stopped....7k miles here, only does when cold, less than freezing from what I have found....I check for updates daily, so if they get one, it will be posted....

Yup pulsing is a good way to describe it. I have 9k miles, and only started noticing it when winter hit and it's around freezing or colder.

I plan on taking it into the dealer one of these days to take a look at it, but I may have missed my chance for them to replicate it with spring weather moving in

This is one of the issues, no matter how obvious the problem is, when you bring it to the ford dealership they will say "hmm, we couldn't find anything, the computer says everything is normal...."

I am one of those Ford people, and, yes, without codes or technical service bulletins or special service messages, we cannot do much with it at this time....

I'm experiencing the same thing in my hybrid. It's super subtle and almost makes you think you're imagining it, but it definitely rocks when the engine is idling and cold. It's like when you're stopped on a bridge and can feel it moving while traffic is passing by.

Hello! Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer. I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this concern. Thanks!
