Rival 4x4 Skid Plate Installed!

My Rival Skid Plate arrived and I finally had time to install it. Tough to get pictures since I don't have a lift but it was pretty easy to install, only took an hour.

Is the small plate on the bottom the cover for the oil drain plug? And can you get to the oil filter without having to take it off?

Yep, I haven't actually tried yet but the panels/cuts are designed to allow for oil changes without removing the entire plate.

When I drive, I'd rather have the FX4's two piece metal one. When I change the oil, I'd rather have that one piece felt one lol.

Really all I want is the Tremor bumper and it's one piece metal plate. If I hadn't gotten an FX4 I would have already done it.

Looks like a good product and the price of $299 isn't bad at all.

Probably safer to place orders on a backorder system rather than keeping a bunch in stock and end up not selling them eventually. I think it was announced only a couple months ago, so it didn't take long for them to start filling orders if that's the case.

I noticed JCR Off-road now offers an engine, cat, gas and floor skid. I'm not familiar with there products but they look good. Rival only has the engine skid so I might order some of jcr's other skids.

Search for my install. I have the JCR Off-Road plates (gas tank, floor pans, catalytic converter, and engine) and the engine cover.

I have a standard XLT AWD with the Tow package, and I think the engine skid plate is AWFUL and a waste of money. They were lazy and only did one design to accommodate the FX4 and Tremor in addition to the standard AWD. The gap to the bottom of the bumper is HUGE on the standard AWD.

I tried leaving a review, but they keep pulling it down.

Again... Don't waste your money on the engine plate. I am contemplating removing the JCR Off-Road engine plate and having the Rival put on.

The rest of the plates are pretty good and only require slight modifications from what you see in their installation videos.

I was disappointed in the JCR engine skid back when you did your install. I commented then it was clearly a Tremor part. I was wrong, it is a AWD (non Tremor) part but poorly designed for sure, horrible.

Rival is a clear winner for the AWD Mav but I'm still undecided on the Tremor

I was put off by the JCR nut plates and drilling needed to install on the Tremor, but do like it uses 4 additional bolts at the mid section instead of 2 plastic vibration buttons. It does look much better on the Tremor and Badlands. Still undecided.

They were on preorder for a bit with a ship date end of June, received mine early July and the backorder was showing a date for a bit. It actually got here before my maverick and with their MVRCKFRM10 code it gets you under that too.
