What are your thoughts and experiences with the ride and feel of the Maverick?
My experience is that when empty it rides firm and handles well as expected. I did notice when going over speed bumps or curbs, the rear is bouncy. I was surprised when I put a load of about 350 lb in the bed, it was even more stiff and springy. Similar to a small trailer with a torsion arm suspension. Has anyone noticed this.

I put a 1000 pound load in my hybrid maverick bed and it felt very stable on a twisty country road.

What I was saying is that I'm surprised that it didn't ride a little smoother with added weight like a truck.

350# isn't really any weight. I installed the Decked drawer system in mine, then loaded about 400 pounds of tools in it and it rides pretty nice. I am waiting for my canopy from Leer, which will add another 100 pounds to it. The only cons I read in a review by car & driver was that with the 4k tow package they ride rough. I'm guessing that guy never rode in my 1975 F250 hi-boy, or my 1971 IH flatbed or my 1986 Jeep Comanche!

I've carried lots of different weight loads along with the flatbed trailer loaded light to heavy. Ride was smoothest with this tractor back there. Not sure what it weighs but I can't pick up either end by hand! Also, twice now I've hauled this trailer at an estimated 3500 lbs and it pulls really close to how my F150 Ecoboost pulled. Not as quick to accellerate but I don't push it like that one either being as it's a lot closer to max towing capacity. It is also essential the trailer load be properly balanced as it gets a little twitchy with a light tongue weight. Found that out first time hauling that blower tractor about two feet further back than in the photo below.
This little rig suits my needs just fine. Going on a year and a half and I've had no regrets!
