I have always had drop in liners in my previous trucks and believe it or not I prefer how they are slick/slippery. I find loading stuff much easier. After doing a bit of research, it sounds like I risk rusting out my bed so I think I am going to get either a rhino or Line-X spray in bedliner. I was hoping to get some input from you guys on which you prefer and maybe some advantages/disadvantages to them and which one is less "grippy" and more like a drop in. Thanks guys as always this forum is awesome
My Line-X job was $550, as cited by my Ford dealer. The stuff is wonderful stuff, tough, and "shiny," which I did not expect. ONE WARNING. All Line-X franchises are not equal. My dealer's Linex-X shop was booked up, so he used a shop in another town, which did not plug up screw holds or cover various screws. I learned this the hard way, when I went to install a cubby box and the retaining Torx screws were covered. Luckily, I took it to my local Line-X guy who removed the hardened goo. Back to the product, Line-X is great stuff.

I had Rhino on my 2005 GMC Canyon. On my 2016 GMC Canyon I used LineX. I think in the day the LineX was less textured than the Rhino. I have LineX on my 22 Mave EB. I just took delivery of my 24 Mav hybrid with factory SIBL. LineX did a better job masking and covered more places than Ford factory. Ford left the bed top rail under the rear window body color and on the tailgate, didn't cover the first 3 inches on the bottom edge of the tailgate. For the 22 Mav I showed my LineX dealer that Ford charges $495 for factory SIBL and he accepted $495 cash money. I actually prefer the coverage by LineX as opposed to the gaps left by Ford. I'm going to see if LineX can coat said gaps. [Attached photos are looking from the side of the bed to under the rear window.]

I had a drop in liner in my Dakota, when I sold it at 15 years old there was no bed rust. I currently own a 14-year-old ram with a drop in liner, if I lift it up from the back to check there is no rust. For those reasons I went with a drop in bedliner in my maverick. I also like how easy it is to load items you can just slide them into place, with a spray in it's much harder to load and unload items in my opinion.

Really......I didn't know that was possible to put a drop in over a spray in. Is your drop in the factory ford one and did you have to trim it at all to fit?

I didn't read all the replys .
In my opinion , It all depends on the shop doing the lining.
The Ziebart dealer of Dearborn Michigan did my 2023 lariat and comparing my liner to the pics i,ve seen on this fourm , they it correctly.
Tie down hooks were removed ,the tailgate access panel was removed and done separetly .
AND most of all , no overspray .
To anybody in the Dearborn area considering a lining ,try them .

Things slide around on my liner ,so I installed these , from Menards.
They keep things put and also protects the liner .
I recomend these for those who are without a liner and/or have limited funds .

You can. Line-X is sprayed to around 1/8" (.125, 125 mils) thick, and a drop-in's tolerance is not nearly that close.

I would've done that on my Nissan Frontier because I much prefer drop-ins over spray-ins. However, all Frontier PRO-4Xs have the Utili-track cargo management system standard, and there is no compatible drop-in. That's probably why all Frontiers with Utili-track also include the OEM spray-in bedliner.

I didn't have a choice; when I ordered my truck, all lariat lux included Ford's SIBL. But if I did have a choice, I would do Line-X. It is harder and has a sandpaper-like texture.
OEM spray-ins are not difficult to remove. You'd be throwing the money for that mandatory "option" at the wall, but it's not like you're forever stuck with it.

Line-X is a lot harder to remove because, unlike the OEMs that spray the bedliner on a glossy paint job, Line-X dealers (good ones anyway) spend several man-hours prepping the surface, which includes scuffing it really good. It's not impossible to remove Line-X, but it requires a lot of tedious wire-wheeling, whereas OEM spray-in bedliner can be literally pulled off by hand.

My after Line-X clean-up turned out to be a bit more than I expected.
One broken bolt in the power center panel which I drilled out and re-tapped, 120 volt power plug left unplugged, and the eight holes for bed rails, or whatever, plugged with Line-X which I cleared out with a tap.
Still a nice looking job otherwise. But, I am still a bit annoyed.

I've had both over the years and have Line-X in both our Maverick and Ranger. When I take my trucks in, I remove everything and leave it at home. I've seen where some places don't remove attachments and spray over it. I just want to avoid that hassle. I always have to tap out the threads when I get it back, but it's not a big deal. I prefer Line-X as it seems to wear better.

Rhino liners stays a tad rubbery, though it hardens (is tacky for weeks or so after application).

My rhino liner has none of the issues people talk about here. So It obviously is the installer and business. Mine removed everything and plugged holes off. Got truck back in 5 hours. Y'all are welcome to come pick at it to see it's not soft.🤣

I know a lot of people probably would consider doing both a waste of money, but I really like this idea. I feel like it is the best of both worlds. Thanks for the suggestion.

My vote would be Rhino. I’ve had two gen5 Rangers with Rhino and a Dakota with Line-X and while Line-X is good it was a knuckle and knee killer because of the roughness. Rhino was softer and grippier which is easier on cargo and your body.

Thanks for everyone's replies here. I was leaning Rhino already because of the price difference in my area. Line X was $625 regular, $700 Premium, and Rhino was $399 and that includes the UV. Once I receive the truck I will end up with the Rhino, but the Line X pics look good.
