Ford's module descriptions in parts seem vague at times.
I'm looking at the module in parts diagram (14F509) on back wall that the cameras feed into, IPMA - Part#: SZ6Z14G647A, Part #: SZ6Z14G647C

Funny, on my XL the part number on the sticker on the back of that module is neither of those. I see SZ6T-14G647-BBB. I wonder what B means.

My XL came with both lane keeping and blind spot cameras which I’m pretty sure aren’t standard. Would be pretty cool to figure out how to get ACC on too.

The parts themselves may be marked with engineering numbers which are different from the actual part number.

Wow. Reading all the posts in this thread is wild. The amount of dedication and time commitment to make this work is mind boggling. In my mind, I’m like, “ok I need to work X number of hours of overtime to afford the model that includes these features that I want”, rather than “let me spend 100 hours to re-engineer an option that Ford already offers on the Maverick, so that I can save $1,000.

I didn’t like the Latriat wheels, think the 360 camera is a little gimmicky on such a small vehicle and live in the south and do not care about heated seats. I liked the XLT wheels better and also the cloth seats. It would have cost me over $4000 more to go up to a Lariat trim for a bunch of things I didn’t want or need. I do want AC eventually and possibly also a slider window,. It’s not critical though, I can wait. Even adding at later date I think I will at least save $2k+. If I never add them, it ain’t a deal breaker.

I did get a Hybrid with a moonroof (only reason I went up to XLT honestly, couldn’t get it on an XL. I like steelies ❤), AWD and 4k tow.

I mean, sure, you could start with a no-options xl and then upgrade the cameras and radar and still come in $9k cheaper. But there’s no comparison between the two.
The closest comparison is an xlt with Lux package, which is what, $2k less than the lariat? Then add in $1,000 in parts to upgrade the computers, cameras and radar for ACC and lane centering and then you’ve saved $1,000 over the lariat.

But then what’s next on the upgrade path? The sound from the xlt stereo is garbage compared to the lariat. Time for aftermarket stereo. And what about the power rear sliding window in the lariat? Or the spray in bed liner? Or what about automatic dual zone climate control? Or the wireless phone charging pad?

The lariat adds a dozen nice little perks that all add up to it being the most cost efficient route to tech and convenience upgrades.

If Ford offered the Maverick with the Platinum trim package, I would have bought it without a second thought.

To be really blunt, my time is worth more than $10 per hour. Because that’s how much I’d be saving if I dumped weeks worth of my free time into upgrading an xlt to having ACC and lane centering.

No offense but your commentary is not at all helpful to this thread. We get it, the Lariat is a better value, but for those who have an XL or XLT who want to upgrade things, this is for them. Let's keep this a technical discussion please and work on the project.

My commentary is quite useful to someone that is considering buying a Maverick, but has not yet decided which trim level.

And are you a MTC moderator? Who says you get to decide what content goes in this thread and what doesn’t?

Some of us just like to tinker, it’s not about the money. In my case, I was gifted a 2025 XL and want to make it my own. I have a few upgrades in mind though.

I understand your point but I see tinkering is more of a character and taking pride in making your car own and standout from pool of cars but not for saving money. Yes, probably who is just for saving shall look into higher trims. I am more into CCM so I could have Open Pilot and then some of autonomy down the road. This is a little fun car to work with and this coming from someone who always own Lexus and currently Tesla. Think it like a mother spend a whole morning and probably the ten fold cost in ingredients to bake a cookie which can be bought probably by a couple of dollars. Think it like a hobby and I swear I know lot of cars from these talks.

The Lariat also has a much quieter, sound deadining, windsheild.

I I connected my old module but CCM is not detected. Could it be Forscan version (2.3.66)? If compatibility, I would’ve at least see DTC? I have saved a firmware for CCM which is proven worked with Maverick from fcolo but here I didn’t even get chance to update it. Do you guys think, I need to take battery power off to reset computer?

Make sure you start with a new profile and don't use the saved profile in FORSCAN. So click no when it starts loading. Also, I think you need to change the settings in the IPMA first to enable adaptive cruise control in order for it to even look for the CCm.
Question, were the wires for the CCm (power, ground, data+ and -) already pinned with wires coming out of the IPMA?

I scanned as a new profile but I didn’t change anything in IPMA yet, if that’s the case I will try again when it is a little cooler outside.
Adding pin was hard part. There was no pin in 9, 18, 19 and 20. I added and checked with multimeter for continuity.
