I've been following some of these threads due to my truck going into sleep mode now that the weather has turned colder. Same happened last year. The link you showed says it does not fit a 22 Maverick so I'm asking for verification.

I'm not one to fix things myself due to I'm not that ... how do I say ... I'm frankly afraid to do mechanical things myself because I may cause more damage than someone more experienced. Example being I had to replace the cabin filter due to a mouse getting up there and dying, and in the process, I broke a pin that holds the filter, but it didn't hinder the replacement. Can I take this battery to the Ford dealer and have them replace, or will they refuse due to it not being a Ford product, if you know?
I'll put myself in your shoes. My job was to break things for 40 years, not fix them.

However, I decided to take a look at doing the battery replacement myself, and I had little issue with it. I was done in about 30 minutes and did it with tools I had on hand. The advice I've seen on this thread is spot on, and I have nothing more to add, except you don't need to be afraid of doing it yourself. Some folks have made mountains out of molehills about the job, (like pulling the trim, you don't need to) but you don't have to be too mechanically inclined to do it, I'm certainly not.

I did it myself, reset the BMS by following the instructions in the manual, and it works much better and charges faster than the original Ford POS.

But by all means, if you're not comfortable or don't have the tools, then find somebody you're comfortable with to do it for you. I doubt a dealer will do it for insurance and liability issues. Paying a mechanic to do it will probably double the cost at a minimum.

For the Hybrid version Mavericks, I'm glad to see a lot of you going ahead and spending money on the AGM battery. As I have posted before, it appears that the Ford App and the on board computer is set to check the truck every time you drive it.

And the software is set to charge an AGM battery at 80%. The hybrid from production has had a flooded battery installed. This battery seems to be one of the lowest quality batteries to install in a new vehicle. It suflates fast and as a result, doesn't ever get up to 80% in charge.

After 3 years of production, Ford is sending some kind of fix to this. For most of us, this can't happen soon enough.

Should you go in and change the settings at all? FLA to AGM, and charge level to 95%?

Good Idea, but I don't have forscan. And I think I will just wait till Ford does it.

I ordered this battery and found out it's not going to fit my Maverick. The terminal orientation is opposite of the current battery. Trying to cancel the order

The battery in the link is the exact battery that fits and has the correct positive, negative sides for the Hybrid Mav. I ordered it and installed it. It drops in and the terminals are correct. Did you order from the link? The Hybrid Mav has the terminals reversed from standard, hence the 140R in the description.

If you’re believing that Amazon is telling you that it won’t fit a Mav, Amazon is wrong!

It's my understanding that once you reset the BMS, the Maverick will recognize the AGM battery with no further adjustments.

Here is the 140R in a member "Chewy's" Maverick.

What did you order?
Just so you know, all sites will say either "does not fit" or "not for your vehicle" when you try to get an AGM battery. This is becuase Ford didn't list an AGM battery as a part of the Hybrid Maverick's items that can be purchased aftermarket. Even though in Forscan, the settings to charge the battery is for an AGM..........thus the reason the flooded batteries are not performing well.

Easiest thing to do is get a tape measure and measure your battery's height, width and length. Then google "AGM batteries with these dimensions" and you should see a lot of them with similar dimensions. This is what I did, but I got a bigger battery just because I wanted it.

Or use what others have proven fits without modifications. Such as "Chewy"

Amazon does say the H6 AGM UPLUS does 'fit' my Maverick, see photo's. But, the H5 and H6 is too long. Advanced Auto's website states the same thing, that the H4 does not fit. Measuring it in my truck and the H4 will fit just fine.

Get the 140R. It is a drop in fit and requires no modifications. Ignore what Amazon tells you. It is wrong. The Hybrid takes the H4/140R. Multiple folks on this site have used the 140R and dropped it in. Once you swap to AGM, because of how AGM works, a larger battery isn’t going to help you much. The AGM style batteries charge and hold charge more appropriately for the hybrid. Don’t overthink it.

The UPLUS battery I bought from Amazon is an 140R H4. It fits perfectly with no modification of any kind.. I posted a list of recommended tools to have on hand before install to make things go more smoothly.

As I posted before I do not own one. Please keep us updated as to the performance of the battery.
Only a few days in, but all is operating well. No deep sleep issues, app works, cabin lights come on when unlocking at night . . . gee, just like a real truck.

Thanks for the posting this info.

$111.99 is the BEST price you will find for a Maverick Hybrid AGM Battery that fits perfect.
You're welcome. As you can see there have been a host of contributors who not only prompted me on what battery to get, but also offered various explanations and corrections of how Amazon handled the "doesn't fit your Maverick" issue. Lots of great Maverick owners here who gladly offer their wisdom and experience to make owning a Maverick that much better.
