Did you pay extra for switchback rather than just orange?
A little. I could have waited but Diode Dynamics doesn't, to my knowledge, have an amber-only replacement yet. Alla Lighting does have an amber-only but they only have a 1-year warranty. Diode's warranty is 3 years. I've only had 2 of about 20 Diode lights go out and they were both within the warranty period.

Gotcha. I’m still not sold on Alla…usually only use vleds and anything else is a step down imo. Do LOVE my diode fogs on my Subaru tho

That may just be for the Lariat, as I don't believe the turn signals are also running lights, like they are on XLT & XL.
Ohh I wasn't aware of that. Then maybe they would be white.

If its the 4257 bulb like other threads have talked about it, its gonna have the dual function. So the white will be on when the turn signals are not in use

Also IF they are the DRLs, then they have to be dual function. It has to have a low and high setting for it to be able to blink. Single ones only have off and on. Dual has off, low and high.

Yeah, I believe these bulbs will function as switchbacks in the XL's & XLT's, since they utilize the dual function OEM bulb; unlike the Lariat, which is turn signal only......I suppose due to the LED running light in the upper portion of the headlight, which the XL & XLT don't have.

Those expensive V6 ones though appear to have a logic board that should work as switchback either way I think. They even have you tape one wire into the headlights as well, so that it knows when to dim the DRL.

I actually like the amber lights that come with it better. To each his own

The amber bulb doesn't look to be that apparent on the Lariat trim. I suppose I'll make a decision on replacements once I actually get my Maverick.

So I don't have a Maverick yet, but those amber bulbs reflecting off the front blinkers or orange/amber even when off bothers me aesthetically. Figured I'd share this should be an option to fix that issue.

1) LED Option:

2) Chrome bulb option:

The proper size are the first ones, as factory are 4257NA, but you should be able to modify 3157s to fit in 4257.

I installed the Alla LED replacements. They work great as an amber turn signal and as a white DRL. The blinker on the outside blink at the normal rate but inside the cab on the panel, they blink much faster like they would if you had a light out. Not sure why.

Thoughts?

Need a resistor

Weird that it doesn't hyperflash on the outside.

I'm guessing it may need a resistor or a LED compatible relay.

Add something similar to this. Takes two seconds, no splicing.
