Replace regular key fob with one with remote start

My xlt didnt come with remote start.can i get a remote start key fob and key as a spare and the remote work.i need a spare key so if this will work i will get one .i have both original key fobs just want a spare key.im going to use one of the outfits on internet that take a picture of the key and get the remote key fob at same time.

I think you could get the remote start FOB, but that won't auto-magically give you remote start capability, as the truck itself needs to be capable of it as well.

Just get Start-X on Amazon. About 100 bucks. It uses your same fob for remote fob start. Just press Lock> Unlock> Lock on the fob.

I have it on my XL and it works great. Piggyback plug connects into the OBD2 port under the dash on the driver's side.

I have the Ford accessory Perimeter Plus Security system. In addition to the alarm features, it adds the remote start from your original key, Lock-Unlock-Lock sequence.
The alarm feature, impact, vibration, breaking glass etc. sends an alert notice to Ford Pass on your phone and Apple watch.

The remote start on our 23 xlt is on our phone.

Why don't you use Ford Pass app for remote start.

Your phone can remote start it. I use that feature all the time on cold days!
