Let's settle this once and for all. The Remote start on a 2023 Lariat was a standalone and completely optional option (you pay extra for it). It also required the purchase of the Luxury Package.

Remote Start System
Note: Requires Lariat Luxury Pkg (54P)

It shows it was included in the 24 lariat package. This is from Ford's website
Does the order sheet show an additional cost??

We are talking about a 2023, not a 2024. So we need to reference those Order Guides that weirdos like me still have in our records. Haha.

No pricing on the order guide, but the remote start has a big "O" next to it, which means optional. And then the comment about requiring the Lariat Lux package to even be given the "option" to pay for the "option".

Actually the original poster is talking about a MY 25
I also noticed that the other standalone options have prices on them. Where as the key fob did not.

I am continuing the conversation that started mid-thread via comment from @ZABSMAV .

" The 2023 Lariat does not have a start button on the keyfob. Also, someone on here said that you could quickly press lock, unlock, lock on the keyfob and it would remote start from the simple fob. Malarky! It just cycles through lock, unlock and lock again. "

" I have no clue what LUX? means. Our is a 2023 Lariat with all the electronic options. "

There were parts supply issues which helped with the each year being a different way you can get it which way. I wound up with a 2022 first edition lariat loaded AND a 2022 XLT luxury PKG plus several add ons. They booth say Maverick on them and both are hybrids but it's great Lariat is red and XLT lux is gray. So I know how to drive and operate which one I am in. Lots of little differences like lariat mode selector button can be pushed faster than in XLT luxury because CPU is either clocked faster or is a better cpu. 🤗🤗

...what’s keeping the neighborhood hooligans from just driving off on a remotely started vehicle?
If you have pushbutton start, you must have the fob in the vicinity of the cab, otherwise the truck cannot be driven away.

If you have a model with key-start, you must insert & turn the fob key, or you cannot drive away (per the on-screen notice).

It stays locked when you remote start it.
And you can't drive off with the engine running in remote start. You either need to put in the key if you have a physical one, or have the fob on you inside and push the engine start to be able to engage a gear and drive away.

Hey Gary,
Is this member wrong?

Since it's a Lariat, your remotes should look like the attached photo. The start button has the red arrow pointing to it.

It covered in the manual (If Equipped)
And the manual is wrong?
Maybe lariats without LUX???
I have a 2023 Lariat Lux and my truck has remote start on the key fob. Ford shuffled some packages and options for 2023 models and the keyfob remote start was a standalone option for that year. Even on Lariat Lux it was a separate option that had to be added.

Go to the thread below and look at page 15 of the Packaging guide and you can see where it lists remote start as a standalone option.

I just found my winder sticker and it shows the Remote start was a $170 option for 2023 models.

I remember when I ordered I was glad that I had read just about everything posted here on the forum about 2023 models. Otherwise I may have missed that keyfob remote start got moved to a standalone option for that year and I would have been really upset if my truck didn't have that option.

And yet for model year 24 it was included in the Lariat package.

Does anybody know whether it's included with the 2025 Lariat.

Even odder yet is that for the first model year 2022 it was part of the XLT & Lariat Luxury packages.
*Then for 2023 models it was only a stand alone option and not included in any packages.
*Then, as you mentioned, for 2024 models it was included with Lariat trim (which automatically added Lariat Lux items as part of the total Lariat package). For 2024 it was also part of the XLT Lux package.

Based on the order guide for 2025 it looks like it's again standard equipment for the Lariat trim and is included with the XLT Lux package.

So 2023 was the real odd duck year where it was a stand alone option.

Good to know. Thank you for looking up the 2025's
I guess it is not settled once and for all. As some posted.
That's good news for the OP "Potato Skins" Looks like they are getting key FOB start. 👍
I’ve never had a car this fancy, and remote start is totally alien to me. It will be in my 2025.

let’s say I’m at home in August and I plan on leaving in 20 minutes. If I start my car remotely from the inside of my 68° house, will the air conditioner kick on and cool the cab?

Also what’s keeping the neighborhood hooligans from just driving off on a remotely started vehicle?
