I have an Ecoboost that wants to do the same thing if it sits for more than one day. I have a second one that has only done that once and It’s a year old.

The last time it did that about 2minutes after a 40 mi trip. I’m thinking it may have a weak or failing alternator.

I’m now putting a trickle charger on it every evening to see if that stops it from happening. After that I’ll have the alternator checked out.

Who knows?

Alternator isn't the problem at least from what I found. The battery management system only allows a certain about of AMPs to come from the alternator to charge the battery. Likely due to fuel savings. The battery is only suppose to charge up to 80%, but, the State of Charge can drop 10% easily overnight.

Cold temperatures make it worse as you get anywhere from 2-8A back into the battery (not steady), during a drive.

Add accessories that are always powered like a dashcam, you'll consistently get warning on the FordPass app.

My question is still why would it go into deep sleep within 2 minutes of parking it after a 40 mi Hwy trip?

My best guess the BMS thinks your battery has a low SoC or voltage and was that way before the trip. Reset might help after charging the battery.

The BMS system is suppose to determine the State of Charge of the battery. However, from what I found it's not always accurate. You can reset the BMS or let it figure out the battery once you've had it on a charger. The latter, takes 8 hours from when the vehicle goes to sleep.

My vehicle gave me a deep sleep warning a few days ago after two days of not driving. Put it on the charger and an hour later it was full, started at 75%.

Though, there was another instance on the forum where it was caused by a failing alternator. So the possibility is not zero. Best bet is to see if the voltage of the battery goes to 14+V with the vehicle running.

For instance, my daily compute is usually 15km (9.32 miles) twice a day. If I check the SoC on the battery after driving, I might increase it 3-5%. Coming back to vehicle, 7-8h later, that SoC can either stay the same or lose 3%.

Yea . I think alternator/ computer program is screwed up . I charged up my battery , maverick running like it was . order one of those battery monitors that plug into 12 volt . will see what it does . I don't drive it everyday . owned over a year ( 1900 miles ) . prior vehicles not an issue (f150) . will be disappointed if it continues to be an issue .

Example of a 5 min drive. However, I did have the vehicle on the trickle charger in the afternoon (shows full) and went for 5 short trips around the city, this is roughly 24h later. My NOCO G7200 was attached to the battery and after the BMS sensor. Could be failing and thinks the battery is full, need to check.

Note the SoC is at 60%, it was 59% when I first started the truck.

Tested the battery at 700CCA (not sure if it's correct), aftermarket batteries are 760CCA. Tester showed 625CCA and to recharge the battery.

I asked if remote features disabled is common and they said it's due to the cold weather. We've had a few patches of -39C/-38.2F to now - 19C/-2.2F. While it's understandable, I laughed and asked if charging the battery to 80% is normal too, which was yes.

They also added you're lucky you don't have a Mach-E as if the 12V battery dies your shit out of luck shifting out of park. Dealers solution is owners need to carry a jump/booster pack.

With your Hybrid, have you called your Ford dealership about the issue.

There's a TSB in regards to the Hybrid and the battery harness being the prime suspect. TSB Here.

edit: Derp, need sleep. Your vehicle starts, I presume. Granted your dealer can check if the batttery cable is a potential issue(s).

Good morning! If you can send over a private message with your VIN and dealership info, I'd be happy to look into things on my end.

How did you get this to display on (I assume) your cell?

I had the same messages about 'deep sleep' and the Auto-SS not working within a day of a 500 mile highway trip. There is something amiss in the BMS strategy/logic/software/hardware.

The OEM battery was rated at 900CCA and tested find and the Auto-SS was still disabled last spring.

Forscan Lite and a OBD dongle, works well on Ford's.

Resetting the BMS brings back the Auto-SS, temporary if you don't charge the battery, longer if you do.

OEM battery for the Ecoboost I don't think is rated for 900CCA, aftermarket AGMs are roughly 760CCA.

So far after disabling all connectivity features my interior lights have come on when I got in to drive! It's only been 2 days but the big test will be the weekend as that will be the next time I take it out.
