Wish car manufacturers would work on perfecting models currently in production instead of bringing new models out that still have issues . I like my maverick but recalls are getting to be a PITA . Last Ford for now . Hear a lot of talk but no action .
Wouldn't the recalls be the action?

Is there another vehicle you would switch to that is trouble free?

Good thing you've got that 2014 Camry, it has only been recalled for the lower control arm separating from the ball joint and the engine catching fire....

I still don't think I fully understand what you're trying to say @Jah. . Recalls make the model better, to the point where the 2024 Maverick has no recalls, and a 2024 Maverick will be the same as a 2024 Maverick after the recalls are done.

Are you trying to say that Ford needs to work through more of the possible issues before releasing a new model to the public so that there are no recalls? With the complexity of vehicles these days, I think doing that would significantly increase the price of the vehicle at release. Testing a new vehicle for every possibility of an issue becomes very expensive very quickly from a monetary and resource perspective.

Give your head a shake. I don't think that you're on the official Toyota owner list for that Camry or the Honda owner list. If you were, you'd be calling them junk.

The 2014 Camry has had 3 recall actions, two of them very dangerous. How about the lower balljoint separating while driving, or fuel pouring onto a hot exhaust?

Your Honda has 2 recalls, both not nice.

Say you could only have one vehicle and it would have to last until you expire. No replacement under any circumstances.
Would you pick a Ford or a Toyota or a Honda?

^Exactly @Darnon

If you want to stay away from recalls, you shouldn't buy a new model in the first year or two of production. That goes for any make, and it has been that way for many years.

My 2024 has no recalls. It may have some eventually, but I'm starting off ahead of anyone with a 22-23. Granted, the price has gone up since 2022, but maybe you should weigh the cost vs. the frustration you're having with recalls.
MY 2024 Hybrid had a software recall for DTM, After that it went to deep sleep all the time, Ford did 4 jumps then I had them tow it. Kept it for day and a half and said nothing wrong. I disabled the spy Ford App collecting info and it has been ok for a month. Programming sucks. All the useless electronics suck. It will tell me if Windshield Washer low but wont tell me haow many volts in the battery.

I have a 22 Maverick and most of the recalls have been software updates. To be honest, the only real issue with my Maverick is the battery. I replaced the OEM battery with a third party AGM battery (I wished Ford would have reimpressed me for this replacement).
What Battery did you go with?

Salesman mentioned a recall pending on my '24 when i was buying it, They did the software update before I picked it up and all has been well. I've only had it 4 months and 2600 miles, but the only real ongoing issue I'm seeing with the Maverick is the CV axle thing. I'll take a software update recall over replacing CV axles any day.. 😄

Neither of my vehicles you mentioned is affected by these recalls . only maverick has multiple recalls . so yes they are reliable so far . replaced batteries , tires and fluids so far . pretty good since they are both 10 years old .
