SOMETHING GOTTA CHANGE HERE.
Ok is it just me, yes the rear view mirror is small but it’s also very low. I’m a shorter driver and like to sit a little bit higher. I feel the mirror needs to be moved up and placed on that box thing.
Im always ducking to look under it as I find it blocking my view. It really is annoying.
The other night I was driving and it freaked me out the headlights were coming right at me but it was from behind. And yes flipping it up help but it’s still in the way.
Im ready to just cut it off and not have rear view mirror at all!!!!

I find the mirror is satisfactory. It's a mirror and its' function is to facilitate a view to the rear. It is fully adjustable and works for me. I have the seat as high as it goes, I'm 5'-10". View is good, especially since I stored the rear headrests behind the rear seat.

You are right, the mirror is very satisfactory and I have no problem seeing out the back. And I also removed the head rest and that helps to have a clear view in the back.
I have the seat raised to the top and have tried different positions but I still find the mirror is so blocking especially when you’re looking to the right. Just seems like it’s low. I always have to bobble the head down. I’ve never had this issue with any vehicle.
im just hoping I get used to it.
I just feel like it’s such a safety issue.

Well what do ya know,,, I gave it ago and it moved up!!!!
Thank you very much for really getting my attention and pointing out it does really move up.
I’m a youngish widow and sometimes it takes me a little bit to figure it out.
Now I absolutely love everything about this little truck.
thanks again

(y) Took a month of me complaining on here before someone pointed out to me the other day. I've never seen another rearview mirrors that goes up/down, but it definitely helps with the back view angle and the front visibility.

This. The mirror moves up. Give it a go.
HA! thank you...i'd no idea the mirror can be adjusted vertically as well as for angle.

It is a small amount of adjustment, but it is there.
I just came out of an F150 and I immediately raised the drivers seat to the upper limit as the truck felt SO LOW when I 1st got in and took it for a drive.

With the seat set high, I then found myself looking around the mirror in some situations on the road. so 1 of the 1st accessories I purchased was a bigger clip on rear view mirror, made the mistake of getting one too big (14 in.) and w/ a panoramic curved shape which fisheyed everything.. returned that one and got a 10 inch, much better.

Personally I found both the rr view mirror and the side mirrors to be small and offer limited field of view.. the mirrors in general seem to be straight off a small ford sedan. with the shell on, my view through the Rr view mirror is limited.

It looks like I may be kinda screwed on the side mirrors...? anyone know anything about larger or " towing" mirrors for the Maverick. I'd prefer a wider side view mirror..I saw some cheap strap on (?) mirror extenders for towing on amazon.. I'd prefer an OEM-ish solution vs aftermarket add-on but im also assuming anythign OE will be expensive AF....

OP - the Rr view mirror has two adjustment ball joints, 1 at the top near the headliner, 1 at the bottom behind the mirror. These allow the mirror to be raised about 1.5 inches so it basically touches the head liner....if you haven't tried this ...it should help with your issue at least a little bit.

Three years on MTC, and I'm still learning new things. The huge forward blind spot caused by the mirror has annoyed me from day one. Gonna go out right now and see if I can push it up a bit. I would have never guessed it had a vertical adjust.

Is this not a normal design on most makes? Every Ford I've owned since the early eighties had the mirror mounted like this.

First thing I did when I bought my Maverick, was adjust the mirror all the way up as far as I could.
I hate low mirrors.

Had no idea, never heard of that to even check.
Whoever used prior to me got it most the way up - but I got an extra 1/2 - 3/4 in upward.
Helps a tad more for reducing that blocked forward/side view.

Thank you all.

Now with that other thread about seat head rest replacement options - I can lose some of this good posture.

Ford Taurus sedan and Mercury Sable station wagon both around 2000's I never saw this ability.
Early 90's Mercury Tracer (really Mazda 323) did not. 2005 Rav4 doesn't.

Perhaps a truck thing?
