Rear Occupant Alert disable option

My Lobo allows me to disable the seatbelt alerts for the rear seat. Is this a new feature for 2025 - or do previous years also have this option?

That's not a seatbelt alert, that's a check for the kid you left back there. On my '24, every 6 months I get a message about it.

If you open a rear door, then when you turn the vehicle off, it will remind you to check for rear occupants. Basically a reminder not to leave your baby behind in the car. If you don't open a rear door, no reminder.

Ah - makes sense thanks. No one has yet to sit in my back seat while I drive. But if someone did not wearing a seatbelt, I should get a chime. I have stacked water unbelted with no chime though

Thank you, I was pretty sure the 25MY didn't had weight sensors to back seat as 1 poster has claimed.

On my MY22 lariat the rear occupant alert can be turned on or off

SWITCHING REAR OCCUPANT
ALERT SYSTEM ON AND OFF

1. Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2. Press Vehicle.
3. Switch Rear Occupant Alert on or off.

Note: The default setting is on.

Note: Performing a master reset causes the
system to switch on again.

Semiannual Reminder (If Equipped)
When you switch the system off, a
message appears every six months as a
reminder that the system is off. You can
switch the system back on or leave it off.

My 2024 Lariat just had a software update that allows me to turn that off.

In my ‘25 XL, the rear seats belts don’t chime from weight. They’ll chimed if it’s buckled, then unbuckled, my kids’ will sometime mis-buckle into the middle one, usually have to turn the truck off and back on real quick for it not to chime.
The “check rear for occupancy “ alert when you turn the truck off it nice for those times you forgot you threw something in the back on the floor too.

How do you forget your kid in a car, never understood that ford has to remind you to check your back seat, I don't have kids I have a dog and never needed to be reminded she's in the car.
