Having the availability of an auto lift I took the opportunity to install a pair of 3” amber spot and flood LED pods under my rear bumper. My primary interest is to illuminate to the rear of my truck when I’m hooking up my PWC’s trailer. Therefore, I chose not to tie the lights into the OEM reverse circuit wiring. Rather, the wiring runs through some plastic conduit under the truck to the rear of the passenger side taillight unit. From there it passes into the right side storage cubby where I have mounted a 4 gang switch and power port panel. Tied into the circuit is also a remote control box. The result is I can turn the lights on by a switch if I’m standing at the tailgate, or seated behind the wheel with the remote. What do you think?

The lift is in one of my grandson-in-law’s out buildings. At my age, there is no way I could have completed the install flat on my back or solely with the use of ramps. Even doing my fender flares and mud flaps was made so much easier by using a rolling shop stool and bringing the truck up to a comfortable working height. I guess I have at least one reason for keeping him around for a while, or at least until I complete my build!

What kind of "remote" are you using?
