Rear bumper - Is it broken? Can it be fixed?

My spouse got into a little fender bender in a parking lot. As she was backing out, the car behind backed out too and hit the driver side read bumper at the corner. The damage is very minor. Not sure it’s worth even getting fixed. You can see in the picture the bumper detached from the wheel well. That looks like the extent of damage, aside from a scrape. But is this broken? The other side doesn’t separate from the well, but there doesn’t appear to be any sign of plastic being broken.

If it is broken, can it be fixed or do I need a new bumper? I plan to take to a shop this week, but I’d like some idea of this is fixable before I get the pitch to replace the whole thing.

There's a plastic bracket that connects to the inside of the bumper there, and that's what the wheel liner hardware attaches to in your picture. Take a look under there, that may be all that is broken.

Drill whole in the bottom of both pieces add a black zip tie and call it a day, I zip tied the front of the Prius after wifey got it sheared off.

The plasic bumper cover lists for around $800. Not worth replacing the whole thing. Zip tie sounds like it may work, or maybe you can fab up a new little bracket.

Closing the loop on this (pun intended). I had a mechanic confirm that there was no frame damage. He put a zip tie on. That should do for now, and easy to replace if needed.

File or sand off the razor-blade-like edges where it was snipped off. If anyone ever puts their hand in there, they'll probably get a nasty cut. Either do that, or replace the tie wrap so the cut-off end is facing towards the inside.

Gorilla Glue LOL! Just kidding. I'm super picky about my vehicles, I'd have to get a new bumper cover. But that's just me.
