Rapid dash turn signal flashing

Older cars had a physical relay based on voltage and time. If a bulb was burnt out, it would flash faster because less resistance to the same voltage.

The recall was to fix the truck not telling you a bulb is burnt out- so after the recall the truck is operating correctly, but the LED bulbs are lower voltage so the truck thinks those bulbs are burnt out. You'll need to add resistors or change bulbs to ones with resistors built in.

You only have the front signals replaced though, correct? That's totally irrelevant to LED rear light replacements being affected by the updated BCM strategy.

Had the turn signal recall done in Jan 18th. Had no issues prior to recall being done. Mobile service did the recall in approx 25 mins. While checking the vehicle, the hyper flash showed inside on the dashboard even though the lights themself were operating properly. The tech asked if I had installed LED rear turn/stop bulbs. When I responded yes, he said I needed the newer led CANBUS bulbs which have a built in resistor if I wanted to keep the led bulbs. Or replace the bulbs with original halogen which I still have. The led work fine just the annoying quick/hyper flash on the dash. Still haven't decided if I am going to stay led or back to halogen.

To add to the confusion, I received a Tail Light Recall notification 23V848 Today. 1/20/24.
Have not replaced bulbs.

I appreciate this thread. I also have the Last bulbs all around and I have an appointment next week to have the recall done. Good to know what to keep and eye out for.

Got my recall letter in the mail today. I have not changed the bulbs. Have had no problems. Mine is a 2023 Lariat Luxury. It was ordered 11/16/22 and delivered 10/26/23.
What should I expect at the dealer?

The recall is to fix the truck not fast blinking to tell people a bulb is burnt out.

Some LED bulbs don't pull enough electricity for the truck to recognize the bulb is functioning correctly and will falsely fast flash even though the LED bulb is fine.

For the recall to take a little while. If you're not using LED bulbs and don't have any bulbs burnt out, you won't notice anything.

Mine has been acting strange on and off for a while. I only notice the fast flashing arrow when turning right. Never noticed it when turning left. The only LED bulbs I installed were the backup lamps and that was just a week ago. The right hand hyper flashing was going on at time long before that. And like I said it is random when it happens.

Just had the update today and mine is doing the same. I did notice that the hazards do not blink as fast inside the truck but the turn signals do. The actual lights blink at the same rate but the inside indicators are twice as fast. This also did not occur before the update and yes I have gen3 lasfit LED, but why would the hazards not do this..it has to be a software bug introduced with this update

My wife's Bronco Sport (made at the same plant as the Maverick) is having this problem. Apparently it's not just the Maverick. My Maverick is NOT having this problem...yet.

I just got the recall done today. And now it is just flashing inside the vehicle. I have had the LED light bulbs for 6 months with no fast- flashing. Now I'm not sure what to do.
