It's already been hashed to death here: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/hyper-flash-after-turn-signal-recall.41191/

Short version of story (my understanding/opinion only). Ford issued safety recall to correct a burnt out blub notification with the factory configured light bulbs. The safety recall software update cured the issue with factory lighting & blub types, however, it will cause the hyperflash on the instrument panel if you have changed to aftermarket bulbs like Lastfit, etc. but from what i understand the exterior blubs function correctly. That's my understanding - I could be wrong. It would also be my "assumption" that if you don't want the hyperflashing on the instrument panel, you'll probably need to purchase new LED blubs that are compatible with the software fix/update. or just don't get the update done.
If you do not get the update done then you may not get the hyper flash when one of the tail lights are actually not working. That's why the update is required.

I just got the recall done today. And now it is just flashing inside the vehicle. I have had the LED light bulbs for 6 months with no fast- flashing. Now I'm not sure what to do.
Buy an led with a resister designed for the actual resistance parameters of the OEM bulbs when ALL of them are active.

Just had the update today and mine is doing the same. I did notice that the hazards do not blink as fast inside the truck but the turn signals do. The actual lights blink at the same rate but the inside indicators are twice as fast. This also did not occur before the update and yes I have gen3 lasfit LED, but why would the hazards not do this..it has to be a software bug introduced with this update
Sounds like the hazards are flashing the running light filament and the resistor is only adding draw to the brake/turn filament. So need additional resistor added to the filament causing the hyper flash. Note that in the hybrid lariat some have posted that the lasfit do not have a bulb to fit them.

LASFIT supposed to have that resistor in it already, I am thinking Ford turned up the Amperage after Lasfit made the bulbs.

There is a possibility that the Ford software was not checking the Resistance of all bulbs on the canbus when the resistance level was used to select the resistance level for the resistor. Also the placement of the resistor in the circuit could matter. What if the led was designed with say multiple led in circuit and running lights used 1/3 and brake lights used 3/3 RDS of the LED's then possibly two resistors could be needed, one for each group of LEDs for the burned out check. Of course the led groups could and probably are totally separate circuits but brake lights could still use both groups. Some also have reported that if their rear turn signal/brake light was on for several minutes that apparently the resistor heats up in which ever brand of bulb they were using and the resistance level drops enough so that the burned out condition is sensed. The canbus will warn you that the bulb is dim enough to effectively be not satisfactory in brightness. Some are reporting that they see a few regular blinks before the rapid blinks. Why????

Yeppers…the software update messes the truck up. All was good for 2 years with the leds, now it’s :poop:.
