Radio Stayed on when door opened

This has happened once, last week. I had the radio on, pulled up to the garage, placed the Mav in part, took my foot off the break, turned the engine off, radio was still playing, opened the driver's door and for the first time ever, the radio continued to play. I restarted the Mav and went thru the process again and the band played on. I got out of the truck and shut the door and it was still playing. It finally time out and shut off, and it hasn't done that since.

I have experienced the phantom double horn honk 4 times now. I searched the club site and the usual suspects do not apply. Truck in park, turned off engine, removed my manual key, opened the door and got a double honk. If any of you folks have any ideas on what may be causing these things, please post a response. I search the Owner's Manual to no avail.

These trucks have so many electrical gremlins, figuring them all out is like trying to catch a mouse with a kangaroo. I had that happen once or twice, but that was before I got the backup camera recall done. Nothing overly strange with the infotainment system since then.

My 24 Eco has done this since day one. I turn engine off in park and radio stays on until I open door to get out.

Big difference there, pointing out yours is the normal behavior.
Open door and radio turns off if key has been removed.

But still playing - and while door is closed!

That's exactly how my truck worked until it didn't. It has always stopped the radio on door open, except that one time it stayed on, playing away. I finally walked away from the truck with the radio still playing. It timed out and shut off the radio, hasn't happened again....yet. I really like the Maxerick, but it is very mysterious.

Maybe the powers that be. Liked the song and wanted to hear the whole song.

Only time this happened to me was after I had the key turned to ignition (not started) for an extended period of time while leveling the fog lights. Power button on the radio didn't turn it off even holding it. Tried turning the truck on/off multiple times (including running the engine).

Only thing I found online was to take the key away for a bit. So I found other things to do for about an hour and came back it was off. Truck started fine. Hasn't happened again.

I SWEAR that my 2025 Maverick Lariat Hybrid (after shutting off) used to play the radio until I opened the door. It would stop playing the instant I would open the door. THEN, after a few months, it started to continue playing for two seconds then it would shut off.

Weird. I used to use the radio silence the moment I opened the door as confirmation that the power was indeed off.

That is by design, it's a nice behavior I think.

OP is suggesting that the radio stays on for them even after opening the door.

I have been having this problem with Android Auto. I have to open the app on my phone to stop it.

Same happened to me a couple weeks back. I resolved by rebooting my Sync with holding the Power and Track skip buttons for about 5 or 10 seconds.
