Radio default volume?

I have searched this forum for a way to adjust the default radio volume and can't find if it is possible. Has anyone researched this? When I turn on the radio/stereo the volume is always at 7 no matter what I left it at when I turned the Mav off, which indicates to me that there is a default volume. I want to change it with ForScan.

Weird. I only have a 2023 with a vastly different system, but it remembers whatever volume I left it at.

My 20-year-old home theater receiver let me set the default volume as a user setting. Did you look in the actual Sync settings? It may be in there as a user preference.

Me: 24 Hybrid Lariat Sync 3 = Mine does the same thing. No matter what level it is at when I shut down, upon start it is louder.

On my other non-ford vehicles I could find a setting for default audio volume but not on my Mav. So I will follow this thread...

Since your profile info is lacking info to discern between many options you could be getting.

What year, what trim?

24 XLT here, it holds to last level used.

Me: 24 Hybrid Lariat Sync 3 = Mine does the same thing. No matter what level it is at when I shut down, upon start it is louder.

Level 7 like the OP?

I could see there being a default level (if not just a glitch), and a default drop from last used level.
But yours goes up, so not exactly a protection setting.

Now to see if pre-25MY Lariats all have this.

Done an update via wifi connected lately or ever?

My 25 XL AWD defaults to 7 also.

My 25' Lariat stays at last setting.

It does seem for 25MY, the XL is on it's own level, and XLT / Lariat are tad more similar in feature set - so it would not surprise me a difference there.

Or perhaps no MyKey equevilent now.

Down to software versions probably.

Or does it matter if Carplay is connected, perhaps the phone is assuming a level when connected, or the radio when a phone is connected.

I wondered about the possibility of it being related to a phone being connected. I don't have the OP issue but I know that my phone connects quickly when the truck starts up.

If you go to the MyKeys thread on the forum and watch the Youtube when he tests the MyKeys out the radio defaults to 7 when he turns it on

Yes your truck info was noticed later - but a few questions after that still.

But that's great you figured it out to be the MyKey effect.
If you are the owner - easy way out at least.

I have never set up mykeys. I bought the truck brand new in February. It only has 4500 miles on it. I was checking out the MYkeys thread to see if that might be the cause, it is not why my radio defaults to volume 7. Mykeys has never been set up.

Reviewing all the feedback here on the forum, I'm seeing the only difference is eco or Lariat vs hybrid XL and XLT. Eco and Lariat remember volume, XL and XLT default to 7.
