Can’t see why Ford couldn’t simply default to the last settings on restart.

Works that way on my Miata, all the driver assistance settings, including cruise control, default to last setting. It’s very convenient, especially for annoying things like lane departure alarms.

This is one of those “we’ve always done it this way at Ford” things that has become obsolete and needs to be reconsidered. Even if they are worried about simpleton drivers not recalling the settings, an override could be enabled in a sub menu for drivers who do understand.

It's not even a "we’ve always done it this way at Ford" thing though, The rented F150 I had a few months ago would have a prompt on your dash screen come up saying something along the lines of "Eco mode was selected last drive, would you like to return to it?" And you would click ok and it would set to eco. No idea why they didn't code that into the mavs

It's not just the mavericks. It is across the platform, bronco sport, escape.

I honestly like Eco because the bogginess of the accel pedal reminds me that I dont need to 0-60 off every light especially when the next one just turned red lmao

I love when I get the time right on those lights rolling 10 under the limit. Especially at night with only a few cars on road. The person behind me gets frustrated thinking I'm granny and swerves I to the next lane to pass. Then I coast by at the light doing 25 while they're stopped dead. Look over to see that look on their face like they're the kid who dropped their ice cream cone and you still got yours 😂.

I like the way Slippery drives the best.
Try it consistently for a few days.
(Most effective in city conditions.)
Does it cause damage to the transmission to have it in that setting for a long time? I know you get best MPG that way

No.
It is the gentlest of any mode.

I installed the My Mav Mode module the other day and confirm the beautiful functionality and simplicity of it. Big shout out to @Telemachus! His solid-state design is silent and not likely to ever fail.

Four less button presses when starting the car! Still have to deal with the ready-to-drive and seat belt warnings, and turn on cruise control though. I don't know if they still do, but Honda used latching switches for the main cruise control button. I wish everyone would do that!
