I could possibly be the dumbest guy in the MTC but I had a horrible time installing the module. As you might expect, I wasn't following instructions.
I was also using Harbor Freight wire splice clips and that had its own special effect on the story. In a nutshell, they aren't very good and I urge you to pay more and buy higher quality clips from pretty much anybody else. Those cheap clips complicated my KIA/Homelink mirror installation as well.
After I got a proper electrical connection, my personal "My Mav Module" cycled all the way around and put the truck back in Normal Mode and that's where my story really starts. I tried my darndest to program that stupid module but nothing worked. Nothing looked like, or worked like, the directions said it should. I got frustrated, put the fuse box cover back on and for a month now I've been annoyed every single time I start the truck and watched it cycle all the way around, and back to Normal.
Somehow today was different. I re-read the directions and saw that I was supposed to turn the truck on to the ACC position before programming the module. Hey, that's different than having the engine running, isn't it? Well, guess what? When you follow the directions it all works just as it's supposed to. My unit was programmed to click 8 times and I reset it to 6 times and all is well.
I guess I could be annoyed the unit was set to 8 clicks but It's designed for a number of Ford cars and I'm generally a pretty handy guy who doesn't mind fine tuning things to my exact needs.
All I'm asking is that you all tell me I'm not really as dumb as I appear to be and then buy and install this module because it really is a relatively easy DIY project and cures one of our favorite complaints about our Mavericks.
