I was shocked how bad the oxford white looks with road salt on the body!
Five minutes and one gallon of water later and now it looks much better.

That's a good idea. You could follow that up with some Adam's Waterless Wash and it would look really nice.

Don't even get me started I drive my 2010 mariner around in the winter after salted road just to avoid it, mine is always gleaming. I still drive it after rains clear the salt off the road. But black is already hard as hell to keep clean looking.

Yesterday, the Temps got to Mid-40's and most of the 9 inches of snow, from three weeks ago is gone.. So, He got a "Handwash"...

Have yet to run him though, a carwash...

I wanted EG badly, but couldn't pass up a good deal on oxford white!
Last week I saw a salt covered EG Mav, and the salt made it look just as bad as it does mine, Lol!

I know the true detail snobs don't use automatic car washes at all, I try to make sure that I'm largely using brushless ones.

Black is commitment if you like your truck clean.
White dog is a complication, as if the exterior wasn't a commitment.
Fun fact, there's actually blue flecks in the the paint.

That Area 51 looks good cleaned up. I like that color and was looking hard at a used 23 AWD XLT Maverick with the 2.0 EB in that color before I got the 2025 XLT AWD 2.0 EB Maverick I have now in Desert Sand which I like it doesn't show dirt or salt and water spots as much as other colors..

Two of my Rangers were White (1985 - Wimbledon) and (2008 - Oxford). They didn't look too bad, unless I "BRUSHED UP" against the body. And wiped (Cleaned) off a section...
Than, the dirt became obvious..

The $15 automatic car wash I frequent posted a lawn sign that read "100% Fresh Water", that begged the question, do others recycled their water?… It turns out some filter and reuse over 80% of their water. I don’t know how they can filter the salt brine and reuse the water, but I like the idea of "100% Fresh Water". I mostly use a $5 touch free wash that uses "100% Fresh Water".
