Years ago it took me hours to wax my car. I always used a carnauba wax. Liquid waxes were developed and it would then take me a few hours to wax my car. Today I quick coated my truck with a product called Shine Armor. They say it is a Ceramic Coating. It took me about 40 minutes to coat my truck. I just sprayed the Shine Armor on a microfiber towel and placed it on a small area of the truck. I then buffed the area using a clean microfiber towel. I repeated the process on the whole truck, including the wheels. The truck looked really good.

I have no idea how well this product will last, but it sure was easy to apply. In fact it was so easy, I quick coated a second car. It seems it took longer to wash the truck, then to apply the coating.

I use Maguiar’s ceramic wax. The first application is sprayed on and wiped off. After that you spray it on then hose it off. Really quick, and it looks great.

Ford Maverick Quick Coated My Truck Today with Shine Armor Ceramic Coating imag

I just did my VB Mav yesterday. After several internet site searches, I settled on this product. It is applied the same way OP described. The time consuming process was the paint preparation time prior to application.

The results speak for themselves:

Many things are better than what I’ve read about Shine Armor. Meguiars ceramic wax, gtechniq’s c2v3 and many other spray on/wipe off coatings are far better.

What is wrong with it? It has 69000 reviews. Most are good reviews. There are some bad reviews. It worked well on my truck.

If you can suggest a better product I could use next time, please let me know.

I’ve used the two I mentioned above with great success. Spray on, wipe off, lasts several months depending on how often you wash your car and how…..automatic vs. hand. One bottle of either the Meguires or the gtechniq is $20-30 but you can treat at least 3-4 cars with each, sometimes more. I’m not saying Shine Armor is junk, but there are better options for your money. Two things jump out at me…..it only has 2% SiO2…….what makes ceramic coating ceramic. They also encourage folks to use it on dirty cars. Sorry, but if you take a microfiber and rub it across a dirty car surface, I don’t care what coating you are using, you ARE scratching your paint’s surface. I’ve read several reviews by car care experts and most of them give it a 5/10 at best. I’ve also ceramic coated many cars with great success and had them last years. To each his own. Just offering some friendly insights.

There is also a thread somewhere with go/nogo products with brief descriptions of why.
