Hey everyone. I've been a Maverick owner for a week, so forgive me if these are dumb questions. I'd like to pull fuse #11 to disable telematics, but I'd still like to have the option to get software updates. Does the Ford app notify you when an update is available for your vehicle? Is it as simple as plugging fuse 11 back in to reconnect to cellular and download the update? Just curious how some of you who have also disabled telematics have been navigating this.

Your Ford app is connected through your truck by fuse 11/12 if you pull the fuse. You get no updates.
There's no way for your truck to receive updates or communicate with your phone. You won't get any Ford pass messages. At least I haven't.
I'm sure when you plug the fuse in and it can connect to the internet it, may update. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I am not connected to Ford App - but still need to pull fuse 11.

I do login to Ford.com to enter my DIY service records no problem. When I check “Vehicle Health” I get this message:

I’ll see if this changes after I pull fuse 11. I know I did not answer your question - sorry!

You won't be able to remotely start the truck via the app - but the fob will still work.

For the newer models that can actually update more than the infotainment center - I've seen ones post their Ford app notice of an update. I've sees one post their website notice of an update, not sure if that is because they don't use the app.

But since both talk to Ford servers, which then talk to your truck if allowed - I'd bet merely checking the website is enough per your desire and process.

When an update is available (because your account knows your VIN already), then you can plug fuse in and get update. I'd say go for a drive and park it too, wait a few hours for an upload of current info back to Ford, just so they know. They already have your address hopefully for mailing recall letters to, so big whoop on that part. But they'll have other update info that could be important for future updates.
Disable the other sharing features though while you are at it.
