I found a set of 4 245 65 17 tires for $480.
They are on steel Maverick Wheels.
I have an XLT with alloy wheels 225/65 17.
My question is will I be able to just put these larger tires on steel wheels directly onto my truck? Should the studs, lug nuts and tpms sensors all be plug and play?

Maverick XLT and XL trims share the same wheel dimensions and bolt pattern.
More than a few on the forum use the XL steelies on their XLTs for winter tires.

There should be no problem with remounting the existing sensors you have on the steel wheels, or just keeping the sensors you have on your alloy wheels when swapping the tires.

Not sure what you are asking...
Are you planning on using just the tires?
If so keep the tpms sensors you have on your wheels.

Do you plan on using the steel wheels instead of the alloy wheels?
There was a tpms change from 315 MHz to 433 MHz at some point, but you don't state the age of the wheels or the vehicle you are putting them on.

If incompatible, put your trucks tpms sensors on the steel wheels, otherwise. you may be able to use the tpms on the wheels you buy, assuming they are functional.

Thank you, I have a 2024 Maverick hybrid 2wd
I found a set of steel wheels with tires, and existing sensors in them.
My goal was to buy this new set of steel wheels 245/75/17 to replace my alloy wheels that were 225/75/17.
The steel wheels do not have the center cap, or lug nuts. I was hoping that I could use my lug nuts from my alloy wheels to put these new larger steel wheels on my truck. The seller said the sensor should work for 2022-2025 Mavericks

The steel wheels are not larger, the tires are larger.

The lug nuts for the steel wheels are open ended and are different from all other Maverick factory wheel options.

TPMS Sensors for 2022-2024 Mavericks are 315MhZ

TPMS Sensors for 2025-2026 Mavericks are 433MhZ

The sensors are not interchangeable outside those model years..

The 225 and 245 designations are the tire size, not the wheel size.
The wheels are both 7 inch rims and either tire size should fit on either wheel set.

The tires from the steelies can be put on your rims, or are they in bad shape?

I would like to take my alloys off and run these steel wheels instead.
Like pulling teeth.

"Run those steel wheels" (and tires)?

If you care at all about MPG, handling, performance and comfort you won't. Those Coopers weigh 50% more than your stock tires.

If you don't care about those attributes have at it and good luck....

Let me guess, they're on Facebook Marketplace? Guess why they're for sale? Hint: not because the current owner really liked them.

Yes the wheel and tire combo.
I found them on marketplace, I figured for the price it's cheaper than buying two new falken AT trail tires.

I am going to be ordering the correct lug nuts. If these tires take too much mpg away I will just use them for winters and switch back to the alloys for spring- fall with a cheaper more fuel efficient tire being on the alloys
Does anyone have any center caps that they are willing to part with?

Usually the tires that come with the truck are 225/65/17. You say the new tires are 245/75/17. I guess the wider tires will fit?

That is what I am reading/ hearing.
I didn't realize I needed different lug nuts. I am ordering those online, I'll need center caps too.
It is the largest size that fits stock without rubbing I read.

I used the chrome lug nuts designed for the steel wheels for my winter and all terrain driving so the center caps are retained. I used the OEM aluminum wheel lug nuts for the Mustang Mach-E wheels.

Those look great, I did not realize the mach e rims would fit the Maverick.
I currently have the xlt alloys on my Maverick. I want to put the steel wheels on for getting firewood, and also for winter to keep Alloy Wheels in good shape. Being in New England I am afraid that the salt on the roads is going to ruin the painted alloys.
I will look online because I want to get the same center caps that came with the steel wheels stock otherwise it will look funny having a hole in the middle.
The wheel tire combo that I plan on buying does not come with the center caps or lugs.
