Personal experience over my 20+ year career of averaging taking 15 fatalitiy crashes, 50 serious bodily injury crashes, and to many to count personal injury and property damage crashes a year over that 20+ years.I guess you missed the smiley face. That guess is just as accurate as assuming that just because lack of DRLs has never (in your experience) been cited as the cause of a crash means that having DRLs does no good.
The main cause of crashes are humans. Medical emergencies make up a small portion, meaning driver of vehicle suffered a medical condition aka letting Sir Isaac Newton drive the vehicle at after the medical emergency. Mechanical failure makes up a very small total of crashes, and they call all traced back to humans.
DRL might reduce crashes, but there is no way to know because there is no way to record an event that never occurred.
